- Q:asbestos cement pipe laying procedure?
- AWWA Products Work Practices for Asbestos–Cement Pipe Following the work practices demonstrated in this practical handbook when installing or maintaining asbestos–cement pipe can help limit the release of airborne asbestos fibers—a critical concern. This reference summarizes the OSHA Asbestos Construction Standard and presents recommended work practices developed through experience, study, and field testing. Chapter headings cover shipping, receiving, handling, storage, and assembly; unacceptable work practices; and housekeeping and waste disposal considerations. Essential reading for engineers, managers, and crews alike. Edition: 1995, Softbound, 17 pp. ISBN 0-89867-795-5; Catalog Number 20406. Waternet® Keywords: ASBESTOS CEMENT PIPE Your Price: $ 27.00
- Q:Will watering new cement help it to cure?
- Yes, watering will help the curing of the concrete, not making it faster but reducing shrinkage cracking due to the loss of moisture at the surface. You can either set up a light sprinkler to keep it wet, or use wet blankets. Generally, concrete should be allowed to cure for at least 3 days before you build on it. This is dependant on the strength of the concrete you placed and the load you will place on the concrete. The concrete will reach it's design strength within 28 days, with very minimal gains after that time. Make sure you allow the surface to dry if you are water curing the concrete before you begin to build.
- Q:witch would be cheaper for a 3 foot quarter pipe wood or cement?
- 3 Foot Quarter Pipe
- Q:Is cement poisoness? Flammable? Explosive? Corrosive?
- Cement is not poisonous (since it is made from burnt stone) but I have never heard of anyone tempted to eat it. It is definitely not flammable (and is used for fireproofing over steel beams). If there is a great cloud of cement dust in the air in an area that has a source of ignition that dust could explode (not very common and only applies to the dust.) It is mildly corrosive when wet before it cures (only a problem during first few days after pouring it).
- Q:Cement- Mortar- Grout?
- Cement is a general building material -- like concrete. Mortar is the adhesive that sticks tiles (ceramic usually but it could be marble or even granite tiles) to the underlayment (the underlayment could be cement, cement board that his screwed to a wood sub-floor, etc.). It may be cement based but then have different additives. For an outdoor kitchen counter you will probably use a plywood or OSB sheet, then a 1/4 inch thick cement board and then stick your tiles on with a mortar that has a polymer additive because of the temperature changes Grout is what is used to fill the joints between the tiles after the mortar is dry. It is waterproof (do not use mortar in between tiles it is not waterproof and may wash away!) Sanded grout has more substance, e.g. will fill more, and is needed if the joints are greater than 1/4 inch or so..such as for large floor tiles Non-sanded grout is used for thin tile spaces...1/8 inch or less like small bathroom wall tiles.
- Q:I want to make a DIY fishtank background out of styrofoam and cement?
- Check out Fosters Smith aquarium catalog. There are special glues used for marine application. I don't think the the foam or cement will work. The fish will want to eat the foam and you will have to use a special type of cement that is non toxic. Try creating a rock wall with the marine glue. In addition you can make an interesting back drop that is placed behind the glass. Remember what ever you place in the tank will have to be removable so you can clean it. Fish dirt will collect in those areas with no filtration or current.
- Q:Trivia question:: If trees are for humidity -- water is for moisture - what is cement for?
- cement is what you mix with sand to make mortar then you use the mortar to stick bricks together. or add cement to a mixter of sand and small stones to make concrete. also concret will go hard even when its under water.and the romans were first to make concrete.
- Q:Which type of cement would i use for a mud floor, & what cement to sand ratio should i use?
- portland cement, 3 parts gravel 2 parts sand 1 part cement just enough water to make a paste
- Q:What color is orthodontic cement?
- Orthodontic cement is clear hen they out it on and sort of whitish when it dries. So I have no idea what's on your teeth.
- Q:Is Pozzolan cement inferior to Portland cement? Please explain.?
- Portland cement evolved from pozzolan cement, so most likely, yes.
Reinforced,It is a real alkali resistent glassfibre enterprise of largest scale, most advanced technology and highest outupt in China. After the newly broadened AR glassfibre tank furnace with production capacity of 10000 Tons/ year being put into production, we will be the China largest, world second largest AR glassfibre professional producer in total output.
