Q: I replaced the water pump on my 350 chevy small block and the thing is leaking out of the lower bolt hole on the passenger side. I was told to remove the bolt and coat it with permatex hi tack gasket sealer and reinstall it. Any how I'm wondering why there would be a leak there in the first place, any ideas?
Bad water pump!!
Q: Is the pump head related to the water level of the entrance and outlet? If the water level of the inlet and outlet is on the same level, but higher than the height of the pump, does the pump lift need to be coupled with this height difference?
Pump head refers to the inlet and outlet pressure head, that is to say, the entrance resistance greatly affects the pump lift, of course, this inlet resistance has a degree, too large water pump does not bring water or cause water pump cavitation. If the water level at the pump inlet is the same height, the inlet flow resistance of the pump may not be considered.
Q: Colleagues, could you explain the principles of operation of the water vane vacuum pump? What range of pressure can one achieve with this type of vacuum pump? If somebody could post a reference to books, app notes, commercial datasheets of such pumps, that would be simply great.
I'm not telling you it all but you can take an A.C vacuum pump and it will lower the boiling point of the water where it will boil at only 65 to 75 degrees Ferlinghetti
Q: I have two water well good water but not a lot of water .is it possible to hook two pumps up to one holding tank . if so how do I hook them up
it is very easy to do just email me. I'll send direction . I would say you have a small under ground stream of water . as you use the water from the well, it will take time to fill the well pipe again
Q: I have a 2005 Mazda RX8 and I was wondering if upgrading the water pump on my car would void the warranty I have with Mazda. I know such modifications such as air intakes and exhaust systems do not void warranty. The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act says Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle. So is it safe to say it's alright to install? Thanks!
im going to say yea its no big ut to cover my butt and yours you may want to call the company who warrenties your car(some private deal look in owners man)and ask them and get a reference number or employee id so you can prove they they told you it was ok in case they say otherwise later goodluck
Q: I have a Honda Accord, and last week I replaced the Radiotor, due to a leak. This week the Water pump broke, it was making a ver loud noise and major leak, when I opened the rad, basically all the fluid was drained.Do you think the two are related? or do you think when the Rad was replaced it was not done properly which caused the water pump to break? Thanks.
The only way they are related is that they both have coolant circulating through them...frankly it is unlikely the replaced radiator had anything to do with it, but if you found the leaking radiator when the steam started curling up from under your hood, then it is possible that gave the water pump that extra reason to fail.. bable really.
Q: I have a leak coming from the water pump that flows down on the side of the AC compressor before landing on the ground. I cannot verify exactly where the leak is coming from on the pump, but I am sure it is the pump leaking because it also sounds bad like rattling. My question is do I have to remove any other components, such as the AC compressor to be able to remove the water pump. I would be great full for any suggestions.Regards,Steph
First you have to mention which E320 you have. It could be either a gasoline or diesel model and the E320 model designation has had the M104 I6, M112 V6, M613 I6 diesel, and M642 V6 diesel under the hood. The water pump is not located in the same place on all engines.
Q: I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider that I'm pretty sure needs a new water pump. It is still under warranty for another 1000 miles, but the nearest dealer is over 200 miles away, and Mitsubishi says they won't reimburse for work done at a non-Mitsubishi Dealer. I'm trying to figure out if the cost of just paying someone to have it done here in town versus having towed 200 miles and then driving it back, plus the lost cost of missed work.By the way my Mitsubishi Roadside Assistance will tow it to the nearest dealer for free, but last time I did that it was barely worth the hassle of dealing with their very poor contract towers.
Have you asked the dealer to send you the part at least? Call Mitsubishi and ask it that would be possible, you never know. You could send in the old pump and possibly get compensation. Keep your bills. Discuss it with them. Your dealer should provide you with the area Mitsubishi representatives contact information. The prices for those can be expensive. Ask the dealer, service dept, for the labour, how many hrs. to change the pump. They should tell you. Also for the cost of the pump. Add the two together and you have your ans. Join CAA, or AAA, get a gold card, wait two days for the card's towing to take effect, then have it towed in on the card. Done all the time. Or if you have a relative with a Gold card they can have it towed in as long as they are with the car with their card when the tow truck comes.
Q: I don't want to have to rent or purchase a electric pump to pump the water out of my pool so are there other ways to get the water out besides the obvious (a bucket and alot of people). I am really tight on money so purchasing a device to do the work isn't a real option but I really need to drain the pool without damaging it.
Hey, your idea about buckets and a bunch of friends sounds like fun. Have a pool draining party! Get a case or two of beer, grill some hamburgers. Then everyone in the pool and have fun. Of course tell them to bring their own buckets.
Q: If you use a water pump to move water through a circular trench, essentially making a little river, and then place some kind of turbine or water wheel or something to generate electricity from the moving water, couldn't you use the electricity generated by the turbine to power the pump, thus requiring no outside power?
No, every energy conversion process is less than 100% efficient. In other words, when the pump and motor raise the water energy is lost. Now when the water flows more energy is lost. When the water turn the turbine more energy is lost. Finally, when the turbine drives the motor to produce electricity more energy is lost.
