Description of Multistage Split Casing Centrifugal Pump (KSY)

Horizontal axially split casing, double volute multistage design. Impellers arranged in opposed groups, KSY is a double suction two stage pump for bigger capacity. KDY is a multistage single suction impeller pump for higher head, first stage double suction impeller design for low NPSH required. Removable wear rings protect the casing and impeller. The impellers are statically and dynamically balanced. The pump comply with the API 610 specification latest edition in all technical details. Special antifriction bearings on both sides or sleeve bearings with ring or forced-feed lubrication (axial bearing as segmental thrust bearing ).

Standard material of Multistage Split Casing Centrifugal Pump (KSY)

According to API 610 Eighth Edition, August, 1995.

Q: coolant leaking from weep hole on water pump need to know what i need to remove to replace or should i call mechanic
its better to have someone show you instead of tell you
Q: i changed my fuel pump and now my car wont turn over....any help? maybe starter?
From the info you give, I would have to say, MAYBE!
Q: Hi there: my water pump is leaking, and my coolant lelel keeps droping, same problem. Im not sure if coolant flows through the water pump?
yes water goes through the water pump and if it's leaking you need to replace it.
Q: my water pump went bad on my 1997 chevy cavalier, causing it to leak all the coolant it had in the system. i put water in it til i could get new water pump. changed out water pump. attempted getting air out of system. put more concentrated coolant in system than i did water. bad guessing on my part. ran car around block 5 times. it was fine. this morning on the way to work, it started overheating again. my thoughts : more air in system that's not coming out? thermostat REALLY went bad at same time as water pump???? overheating all because of a little too much coolant??? for some crazy reason, my system needs to be suddenly flushed? Your thoughts? one last thing, the car has always ran perfectly normal temp til water pump went bad.
Sounds like a typical air lock, you need to bleed the system, should hopefully be a bleed screw often running off heater pipe at the back of engine! Check to see if top and bottom pipe are hot when running, or heater not blowing warm usually a good indicator of air in system! Just found this! To bleed the cooling system on a 1997 Chevy Cavalier, there is a small brass bleeder valve located on the heater pipe that runs along the front of the motor (metal pipe). Open that valve a couple turns and pour in the antifreeze in the reservoir tank until antifreeze starts dripping from the bleeder hole. Tighten the valve, but be careful not to tight too tight, they are soft brass and break easy. Finish filling the reservoir to the Full Cold mark. After driving the car at least one time and letting it cool down, check the antifreeze level on the reservoir and fill as needed.
Q: I just had my water pump replaced and a coolant flush. 35 miles later, my MAL light came on and my mechanic said my thermostat needs replacement. Should this have been done with the water pump work, or could the work have caused the thermostat problem?
Yes an no. Is it a good idea? Yes. Especially if the vehicle overheated. Is it required? No. It will be extra labor to replace the thermostat. He did not cause the problem but he probably should have recommended it to you. It would have cost you the same extra money then as it did now. Just would have saved you time.
Q: Why should the pump fill the air before running? What's the reason why the water doesn't go up?
Because the pump is rotated to the water from the center of the impeller thrown out, while the water inlet has been filled recently. If there is air, water can not be pumped out
Q: And my heater works 80 % of the time, Is it still ok to drive if I keep putting water in it?
You can. But I caution it will get worst over time. The unfortunate realty is only make short trips cause it will just start pouring out sooner or later. And then its over. Keep a eye on it. A water pump/timing belt is cheaper than a new van or motor. I think both are required when doing a pump on that one, so I'm guessing that's why we've not fixed it?
Q: I was wondering how to replace the water pump in a 94 Plymouth Voyager. Its my moms van and she is scared that they are going to have to pull the motor to get to the water pump to replace it. I dont know so i am hoping one of yall wonderful people do. along with your answers can you give me an estimate of how much it will cost to fix? Please!!!

Q: In the past 9 months, Ive went through 6 or 7 gallons of antifreeze, I was told this was not normal. Ive had my coolant tank flushed 4 times this year, only to be told thats not normal and one lasts a few years. Now that its colder outside my car takes a while to run hot of course, but during the summer it ran hot in about 15 minutes tops. I got a brand new coolant tank before I got another flush because I did have a leak, but that did not combat the problem. I had my radiator looked at and I was told thats fine. So im thinking either a cracked head gasket or a bad water pump...help please. im getting tired of putting money into this car only for the same stuff to keep happening.
if it is a head gasket your oil will have water in it, my guess is a water pump or hoses, check the oil first to see if there is water, then have the water pump checked, then hoses, process of elimination works the best 99% of the time
Q: 94 f150,302. my pump is still leaking after doin the job twice. its a new pump, the first time i used the red silicone between pump and plate, both sides of gasket, and the housing on the block. leaked. then did it again with high tack gasket cement and still leaks. i cleaned all metal both times with brake clean before installing. same with thermostat housing, small leak. ive done 100s of pumps over the years,no problems, so please no rude remarks on mechanical ability. what could it be? it leaks up front of the motor above the crossmember where ya cant actually see the leak, its not a freeze plug. bolts are torqued. any ideas ? thanks
Pay an automotive repair shop to do it. Then it is their problem. Even the best technicians need help once in a while. Yes it costs 3x as much, but no more headache for you.
