- Yes you can still build an impressive chest without a bench press. Body weight exercises like range from the basics like push ups and pull ups, to the more extreme like muscle ups and planches. Will weight lifting stunt growth? Absolutely not. This is a very common misconception, and comes from a poor understanding of the body. Growth is primarily controlled by our hormones. Weight lifting (like any physical sport) will increase lean mass and the production of testosterone, which will facilitate (not impede) growth. Physically, the only way to stunt growth is to cause trauma to Epiphyseal Plates (growth plates) located at the ends of the long bones. So the only way to cause this damage in weight lifting, is to drop a weight directly on these plates, like the knee or elbow. You are much more likely to cause this sort of trauma in almost any sort of contact sport like hockey, football or soccer.

They're usually not that informative. A media guide is a book with stats, rosters, bios, and any other information that will make the media's job a little easier. - the records have a groove . when you play the record a pickup rides in the groove and the ridges in the groove wiggle the pickup to give the sound. to make the records they first make a metal version of the record that has a ridge instead of a groove so that when this metal disk stamps the blank vinyls it leaves the groove in the record. thats called pressing a record.
- Q: I've been wanting a bench press for a while now and 2 days ago my dad bought me one. When my mom saw it, she was being a ***** about it and told my dad to return it. - you can do a floor press. probably the big difference is range of movement. with a bench your arms can go a little lower so that the barbell touches your chest. can't get that low with a floor press. i live in an apt. and a bench would take up too much space so i just do floor presses. i used dumbbells and just do one arm at a time but if i had a spotter(someone to hand me the barbell and take it off after i finished) i would use a barbell. i actually prefer doing a standing press. i don't know when in real life i will be laying down to lift something.

- Q: The gym that I go to does not have any barbells (health and safety gone mad) for doing bench presses. But... they do have a chest press machine which is essentially the same as a bench press but you are sat up-right instead of lying down.Am I working the exact same muscle groups by doing a chest press, obviously I know it's working the pectorals and the triceps as a secondary muscle group so it is basically the same? Is either one better than the other?My other option if a chest press is not as good as a bench press, is to do a bench press in the gym just with 2 dumbbells as appose to a bar bell.Please give your thoughts...Thanks!
