- Q: Is there another workout that I can do that would help me get the same results as bench pressing that isn't bench pressing.
- Cow tipping.
- Q: For my botany class, we're supposed to find 1 sample of plant each from 10-12 different families, press them, and mount them. They are due this Thursday (3 days from now).I had already pressed all the plants needed well ahead of time using the plant press with straps and newspaper. I waited about a week to for them to dry fully, and they were all nice and flat - but someone thought they were trash and threw them away! I should have hid them in my room, but obviously it's too late for that. Now I gathered more plants to replace them, but I don't think I have enough time to press them normally. I heard that I can place foil on top of each individual plant and use a clothes iron to flatten and dry them quickly. Will this work? It doesn't need to be a work of art, it just needs to be recognizable and intact for mounting. Thanks for any advice - it's much appreciated.
- I remember once reading about somebody using a microwave to accelerate the drying time of pressed plants, however I've never tried it. You could try googling this technique. I would think that the heat might cause discoloration because plants are very sensitive to that sort of thing. In any case, I would think that using a big, heavy, book-the bigger the better-like a dictionary, would work better than a newspaper. I normally press my plants in big books like this, and then put a big stack of books on top of them, and stomp a few times on it for good measure. It presses the moisture out of them and the paper absorbs it. Some papers absorb better than others, for example laminated paper doesn't work well at all for this. The trick is to get the moisture out as quickly as possible. So you can try this, let it dry a few hours, maybe take it out and put it on a new dry page, to speed up the process a little. It's like wringing out a wet towel in a way. I don't know how thick the plants you are trying to press are, but the ones I press usually dry overnight.
- Q: i know the types of coffee cos i usually just buy them from dunkin donuts or starbucksbut i want to buy a french press to save moneyis the coffee made from it good?about the different types of coffee, eg mocha, latte all thatwhat is the type of coffee a french press makes?and finally, i saw some coffee beans at the supermarket that you grind with the machine provided and some of them were called mocha kenya coffee and cappucinoare those for making mochas and cappucinos? or to grind and use in a french press?
- The French Press makes great coffee when done correctly. However, it cannot provide the steamed milk for lattes or mocha's and such. You can add dairy to your coffee that you have made in a French Press, but it will have neither the taste of cconsistencyof the 'specialty' coffees you have mentioned. It will simply taste like a great cup of coffee with dairy added...
- Q: what's the difference between pressed wood and plywood? Also how can you tell what's what?
- ditto answer no 1 ...to tell the difference...look on the side or ends ..you will see multi layers in plywood ...ply is all so much stronger
- Q: does press-ups make breasts bigger. i mean, not the chest muscle, but the breasts themselves?
- they make the breasts appear bigger then what they really are.
- Q: How to breathe while doing standing military press?
- God, I hate those. I'm doing them right now. Breathe out while your raise your arms and leg. Breathe in while you lower.
- Q: If you have huge triceps will you automatically have a high bench press?
- Nope. Bench press involves your chest, shoulders, biceps and back as well. Stronger shoulders would help more than anything else.
- Q: which is better for putting on top of your (liquid) foundation.. loose powder or pressed powder?
- I love the blendability of loose powder, it really blends in with your skin colour to give you a smoothe and even coverage. However, I always find that a loose powder is expensive as a lot of it goes to waste! This is why I always use a pressed powder (such as M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals or Select Sheer/Pressed) and invest in a HIGH QUALITY sinthetic brush that will last forever. I always use a Kabuki (buffer) brush, many high-end cosmetic companies sell this. The best of the best is either the NARS Botan Brush or the M.A.C. 182 Buffer Brush Swirl the brush on the pressed powder and tap off the excess, then in large circular motions buff onto your skin, gently like you would handle a pearl. Keep doing this till you get the even coverage you want. You'll get maximum coverage, with minimum waste! Extra Tip: Get a bronzer or a couple shades darker to contour below your cheek bones for a more natural look and finish with a spray of M.A.C Fix+
- Q: I use almay clear complexion foundation, and I am looking for a powder to go over that...i have fair skin so i use all the light colors. I also like the natural look, where it doesnt look like youre wearing.......makeup.. SO.....I purchased almay nearly naked LOOSE powder and liked it, but was scared it was going to make me break out since it wasnt on the clear complexion line, although it is still non clog poring. I exchanged it for Almay clear complexion press powder and im afraid it will dry out my skin? Help? has anyone ever used these items before? If so..what do you like better? I have sensitive skin..gets kinda dry at first, than oily during the day. Thanks
- I much prefer loose powder. It has a more natural look. I have sensitive skin too. So I only wear makeup about 3 out of 7 days of the week. I would say that most likely the pressed powder won't break your skin out IF you don't put too much on AND you moisturize first. I would recommend Aveeno. It has an SPF and doesn't break my skin out bc it's hypoallergenic. I have found loose powder to not clog my pores as pressed does. Try investing in both and use the pressed powder in your T-zone (nose, forehead) where your skin is oily and breaks out more. Then, apply the loose powder on the rest of your face. hope that helps!
- Q: I was watching Martha Stewart and she had a guest with an interesting method of pressing roses, in which she would cut out part of the rose to be rid of a lot of the excess bulk, and then press it.I was wondering if anyone could give me specific instructions for how to do this, as I saw it a long time ago, and these roses had sentimental value (so I don't want to mess them up...).
- just press them the normal person non martha stewart way...it works fine, stick the roses in like a little sandwich bag but dont close it, like if its a ziplock, leave it open, and get a really big heavy book, usually a big a** bible works if you have one, and stick it right in the middle, leave it there for a few weeks.
