Q:The military says they fight for freedom of the press but at the same time the military says it wants the free press out of Iraq. The military says the press hurts the war effort.
Everyone agrees that WWII was the last just war. What is not generally recognized is that what means were used for us to win that war are the same things that the liberal left is bitching about with regards to how we are forced to fight the Iraq war. FDR put a Gag order on the liberal press. No daily body count, no protest over putting US citizens of Japanese descent in internment camps, no protest over bombing Japanese and German cities killling millions of civilians, no protest over taking no prisoners in the war in the Pacific. That was a different generation. Today if there were a draft, other than mass protests, there would be a general exodus to Canada exceeding even that of the Vietnam era. As far as the media or the Press today, it is controlled by the Left and they print only the bad news about the war for the sole purpose of hurting President Bush. The good things that our military does in Iraq is ignored by the Press. The problem is that too many people believe what they read in the newspapers or what they see and hear on television. They think that if it is in print then it must be the truth. A few bad apples rape a young girl and murder her family and for some readers the entire 150,000 Americans stationed in Iraq are rapists/murderers. The terrorists are not stupid and soon they are using what is printed in American newspapers as propaganda to further their cause.
Q:in gym i am able to do a flat bench press of up to 40-45kg.....20-25kg feels like nothing.....but i am not able to do push ups ...maximum i have done in my life is 20 pushups on some lucky day...if i am doing 5 pushups rather 2 push up they does not feel effortless ....my first push up will feel like i am doing 100th....why is it so.....?i read some where that it is because of unbalanced training ...but on Wikipedia i found that both exercise target almost same muscle group...can some one clarify???
The bench press doesn't engage your core as much as push-ups do. A perfect push-up means your body stays in a straight line all throughout the movement -- a requirement that doesn't apply to the bench press. Work on your core strength with exercises like the plank. If you can't hold the top of a push-up for more than 15 seconds, you have a very weak core. It might also be that while you have the muscular strength to perform a push-up, you don't necessarily have the muscular ENDURANCE to perform A LOT of push-ups. Best way to work on that is...lots of push-ups! Just bang out as many as you can, whether it's 10 or 20 or 100, whenever you can.
Q:Just wondering but do press-ups help to build Bicep muscles mass? Or is it just chest and triceps?
Chest and tris. Pullups will hit biceps.
Q:Does anyone know how much a beginner bench presses? And does anyone know and ways to tell when you need to move up on weight with your bench pressing?
Hey Michael! The average man who has not lifted weights before should be able to bench approx 60Kg or 130lbs (Strength wise) once they're familiar with the technique that is. Use the principle of 'progressive overload' to gauge when you should increase the weight -depending on your goals. e.g. 3 sets of 8-12 reps at your working weight is a good guideline for maximum muscle growth Start with a weight you can do for 3 sets of 8 reps Try to Increase your reps each workout When you can complete 3 sets of 12 reps increase the weight and start again 5lb increases are perfect for an exercise such as the bench press For strength 5 sets of 5 is the best routine and allows for heavier lifting Apply the same logic as above for progress Be careful, learn and practice good technique before worrying about the weight you're lifting (Start with just the bar and focus on technique is fine - don't let ego get you into trouble you'll be lifting heavy quickly enough) and always have a spotter for your working sets.Good Luck :-)
Q:im 19 6' 175. been stuck on a max bench press of 190. diet is good, been doubling my weight in protein and switchin up my lifting routine. but cant seem to up my bench any advice??
I okorder , give it a try, how worse could it make things?
Q:I work out regularly and consistently, but I've been lazy about the bench press for the past few months or so. I still work everything else out consistently, I just hate working my chest. I'm gonna start back up soon anyway.Anyway, the last time I benched (3 months ago), my one rep maximum for my bench press was 265lbs. Like I said, I haven't touched the bench since. However, I have been working really hard to improve my military press and have been very successful. I just started doing standing military presses with barbells and in the past 4 weeks, I've gone from my one rep maximum being 175 to 205 with perfect form. Can I expect my bench press to have increased as well as a result of indirect training? Thanks!
Its hard to say from military pressing, if you're shoulders were weak in comparison to your chest before then its likely that when you go back you're bench will be higher. You see more indirect strength gains from doing upper back work. My bench went up (without benching) when i did lots of rows, pullups and so on. The other thing is that the long head of the tricep will get alot of work from military presses, this could also boost the bench strenght. I would say the determining factor is how your form is on the bench press. If you have a slightly wider than shoulder width grip and keep your elbows pointing inwards slightly then their will be more anterior deltoid involvement and so the military press will definately help. But if you use a wide grip and let your elbows point outwards, then there is alot less shoulder help, and so it might not help that much. Either way its a good idea to give your chest a break and keep your shoulders healthy :)
Q:I applied to a for-profit university (Globe) and then cancelled the next day. After 2 weeks, they have not attempted to refund my application fee despite me leaving 2 messages. I was thinking I could threaten to give the press a story about my negative experience with them, like tell them I have connections with a paper or something (even though I don't). Is this legal? Or is there anything they could do to me?
You aren't entitled to a refund. Not illegal to threaten, but you will just look foolish. You applied, and that costs the fee. You changed your mind...that isn't their fault.
Q:I was reading the news and I just didn't know how those words are different;( if a person is 'accused' that person is not really 'proved' as guilty right? what about convicted and charge? and I was wondering what drop/ press charges mean Thanks in advance!
to accuse means to claim that someone did something. It is definitely not yet proven. Press charges means to legally file a claim of criminal conduct. The charge is the legal accusation, a statement of what the person is supposed to have done and what law was violated by doing that. It is still not proven. A conviction, in legal sense, means that the person has been tried, been brought to court and found guilty, meaning that the accusation has been judged to have been proven. A conviction means that the accusation is considered to be true by those people who have the job to make that decision. To drop charges means that the police have decided that there is not enough proof of the truth of the accusation to justify pressing charges. Generally this means that there is not much proof of the accusation, with the suggestion that the accusation was false. It might be simply a case of there not being enough evidence to demonstrate the truth of the accusation, rather than a judgement of falsehood of the accusation. Either way, though, the result is the same. The charge is removed. In our western legal system, the general idea is that a person is considered innocent until proven guilty. The decision turns on whether there is proof of guilt, rather than proof of innocence. The problem with this is, of course, that an innocent person does not usually get to prove his innocence, and thus even if found not guilty, or even if charges are dropped, there is always some doubt as to whether the person is actually innocent, or simply got away with doing something because there wasn't enough proof. being not guilty is not exactly the same as being innocent. Being innocent is definitely being not guilty, but not guilty is not definitely being innocent.
Q:So after I press my flowers in a book for about a month and take them out, how do I preserve the color?I've read so many answers but nobody seemed to have answered this. I don't expect my orchids to be vivid after pressing them but is there a way to make them fade LESS? Or do they not fade at all once they're pressed? Also, does anyone have suggestions about how to ARRANGE and CREATE something with the pressed flowers? I was thinking of arranging them on some kind of special paper type of thing and framing it because i want to mail it to someone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'll okorder /.. It seems that you are only limited by your imagination. So play with what you have!!! Best of luck. :) P.S. If you don't want to cover the card with contact paper, slip a sheet of transparent paper on top of the card when mailing to protect the flower.
