- Q: Hey, am relocating and I need some advice about decorating my living room.the walls are white and the furniture is dark brown so which color rug or carpet/curtains will match perfectly!! please help as i cant find any decent websites!!!
- Spruce the room up by adding some bright colors to the rug and curtains (blues, greens, etc) since the walls are white. The carpet should be kept light, since the furniture is dark. A room should always have a nice balance to it. Hope this helps and good luck =)
- Q: I just moved into apartment but not happy with the carpet and I am thinkinag of replacing it before I by furniture! Any eastimat for how long I expect this project should take!?any eastmat for how much it will cost to replace 1000 ft place including removing old carpet!
- An empty place the carpet can be done , ripped out and replaced in a day with a 2 man crew. A one person operation may take 2 days. That you can find out when you schedule the job. With rip out , disposal, new carpet and installation, your looking at 3000$ ( +- of course) . This is based on the 1000 s/f you say. This may not be all carpet.. - Q: My horse lives in a paddock all week round and with the current climate in sydney its hot one day and raining the next. I live in sydney and he lives 2.5 hours away. He is on an agistment property but i only see him on weekends and the people feed him for me. Are there any rugs that you can think of that are breathable but fairly waterproof and would keep him dry in this annoying weather. TThank you so much and also please only answer if you actually have something helpful to contribute.
- I live in Northern NSW- right now we're getting a fair amount more rain than Sydney. It's HORRIBLE and I totally feel you're pain. My advice is to get a fly-mesh rug. (Horseland has them- the saxon brand is really cheap- weatherbeeta is a better quality). It won't keep him dry, but it will keep the bugs off- and it will keep him cool when its hot. When it starts getting colder you should invest in a light waterproof winter rug (maybe 130g polyfill) which will be fine to leave on him all week in winter- and it will keep him dry. Right now all the horses here are in either flymesh rugs or cotton rugs. They don't stay dry- but it keeps them covered and keeps the bugs off. Lets hope this rain stops soon- I'm so sick of it!

- Q: I have a bissel carpet shampooer. I use that wit hot water and the bissel cleaning solution... Which is okay working.. But I need to DEEP clean my carpets. Whats the best cleaning solutions I can use in my shampooer or pour directly on the stains? The stains are mostly pet stains (no odor) and the stairs get bad because of all the foot traffic. Any diy home remedies or anything really, thanks!
- I usually use a strong (50:50) mix of water vinegar to use as a pre-treater. I put it in a spray bottle spray it on the spots. I make my own carpet shampoo with Zote soap. I've found it works a lot better than the store-bought shampoos. I grate a bar of Zote--or better yet, use Zote flakes if you can find them in your area-- mix a couple tablespoons in water, shake til combined fill my shampoo reservoir. I also add vinegar to the water in the machine. I have the Bissell Pro-Heat.
- Q: Hi there,We will soon be replacing our old, ugly carpet and baseboards with new. I'm wondering what should be installed first - the carpet, or baseboards? What material is best suited for baseboards?Thanks for your help!
- Capet goes first, cuz if you ( or some body else ) instals baseboards fisrt and they are to close to the floor, then the carpet will not go under it as it should. Once the carpet is in place, then you come with the baseboard, pine, oak, plastic ( which is one of the newest materials for baseboard ) then sinply go on top of the carpet, not worring about the high, ( thickness of the carpet ) then finish it with a nice line of caulking. Even netter if you plan to paint the walls after, but if not, just make sure you clean nice the caulking whit a wet clean rag ti leave a nice finish. make sure the caulking it's NOT silicon, as silicon it's more dificult to clean, unless you know about it; then you know you can clean silicon with a damped rag in mineral spirits, but if you are not familiar with this, don't even try, specillay with you'r new carpet in place. At least this is the best way works for my, and I have had doing it many times.

- I okorder / Not sure if its quite the right green, you'd have to see it in person. If its not big enough you could buy two or more and use a carpet tape on the back to join them together. And its on clearance!! good luck
