Q: It's about the size of the cotton part of a q-tip/cotton swab... It's just a regular shiny black color, but then again this is the first time I've seen something like this. I found it crawling on the carpet, so I ran across the room to get something to kill it with. By the time I was back, I saw it digging into my carpet! I was astonished, and disgusted, so I got my vacuum cleaner, and went over the entire room it was in. A little later I saw it again! What is this, are there more beetles, and WHAT DO I DO?!: its a carpet beetle, and if you let the suckers go they will ruin your carpet ! just vacuuming wont get rid of them completly. there are sprays available for em !

Q: I just bought a wool area rug (2' x 3'). It doesn't look good where I wanted to put it. Could I put it in a small powder room? Also, would it look good to use a large wool area rug over burbur carpet?: Yes, you could put it in a powder room or use it for an entryway door. I used a persian rug over my berber rug under a coffee table to add more color to the room. They put oriental rugs over carpet all the time. It looks good too.

Q: my room isnt very big...how much (approximately ) will a new carpet cost??: you must measure your room first and then check with a Lowe's and they will let you know. Theres no way to tell you how much you need unless the room is measured, width and lenght of your room be sure that you add an additional amount to cover you closet floor also.

Q: if i place a sheet of vinyl over carpet will it tear or anything if i walk over it or do i need something to put under it: Carpet needs to be pulled and the flooring under prepped as need for vinyl. Any other way will not work. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

Q: Hello I have a repti carpet coming today or tomorrow for my leopard gecko, so I'm just wondering how do I clean the repti carpet?Do I need to clean it with disinfectant liquid or can it go in the washing machine?: My little brother has a leopard gecko and of course I get stuck cleaning its cage what i I do is I take every thing out of the cage and then I pick up the carpet so nothing comes out and take it out side and shake it out then I wash it out in the tub or out side if the weather is nice then I ring it out and let it dry you could prolly use a washing machine but set it to delicate

Q: My carpet is threadbare and needs replacing. The kids are almost grown and pets live outside. Should I get a timber floor or go with carpet again. Which is easier to keep clean? I know that carpet is dirty but it also hides a lot. If you have a timber floor and then get rugs, aren't you getting the vaccuum out anyway? What do you think?: Wood floor homes are noisier. Wood is easier to pick up tracked in dirt......you keep a dust mop handy and wet mop as necessary.......but with the dust mop the wet mopping is less. If you get throw or area rugs, yes, you have to vacuum and still maintain the wood (plus I have to watch out for the fring on the rugs..LOL ) Carpets look fine if you don't get something that shows dirt every other day. Still you do need to vacuum often and have it cleaned regularly. If you are selling, wood floors garner a higher return.......until they go out of fashion again....if they do. You mentioned the kids are almost gone......babies might return....so there you have grandchildren's tricycles, etc. Then your own health........as we get older we may need walking assistence and wheelchairs and walkers roll better on wood or very short pile carpeting. Throw rugs are not for people with walking problems........we trip over them, LOL!

Q: Our small office currently has tiles (vinyl, I think). I wonder if it would be beneficial to have floor carpet installed. What are the pros/cons of having that carpet put in? We'll stay here at least a year or two. Every desk (4 right now, will be adding 2 more) has a laptop or computer, monitor. All workstations connect by WiFi so it's just the power cords that are unsightly. We have guests/clients visit the office less than 5 times a month. We often have conference calls -- will the carpet help with soundproofing? And will the carpet help keep the place cool and complement the A/C?: Carpet will sound proof some, but it will also bring a some static electricity. Carpet, a short, commercial grade level loop will hold up well to the use of office chairs running back and forth over it if it is glued down. Also, you could purchase those plastic forms that the chair can roll on which will help reduce the static. For an office, I would not use anything lighter in weight than a 20 oz. or 22 oz. and that's the bare minimum. When your company reaches it's final geographic location, then I would invest in a 28+ oz. carpet. Also, some commercial carpet comes with its own rubber backing attached and it is sealed so that when they glue it down, the glue will not come up through the carpet. Since you are leasing/renting, I would suggest your carpet be power-stretched in over a good 20 oz. pad at the very least. About the wires...At some of the office supply stores you may be able to pick computer wire bundlers. I sometimes see them advertised on TV. They are fairly inexpensive and wrap around several wires at one location thus eliminating the tangle of wires. They are still somewhat visible but better contained and come in a couple of different colors.. As with any AC, it cools off everything in the room not just the people. The more the AC has to cool, the harder it will work. Get my drift? No matter what you chose, there are pros and cons. You just have to be willing to make concessions for either choice. Q: I had a bad stain on my carpet that nothing would remove. So I tried peroxide on it, and it took it out. So I was wondering if peroxide, baking soda, and things of that nature can be used in carpet cleaning machines?: Definitely you can put peroxide, I'm not so sure about baking soda as it may be too thick and plug the machine, I guess it would depend on the mixture. Peroxide also is capable of bleaching a carpet and should be diluted to approximately 3%, and even at that it should be tested in an inconspicuous place first. hope that helps you , Good luck.

Q: thinking of getting 2 of the kool coat lites! (the white rug with light blue lining, and no shoulder gusset)whats your opinion, and if u own this rug, is it a good rug: I dont know this rug but shoulder gussets are not needed to be a great fitting rug. I have lots that dont have the gussets and they fit better than some that I own that do have the gusset.

Q: Hi I am fairly new to knitting and I am trying to learn how to knit a quot;purl stitchquot; rug out of a book I just purchased. The book doesn't have very good instructions. If anyone has perhaps a youtube video they could share I would love to see it. Please help! :(: I don't think a purl stitch rug is a standard thing that would have a video. It sounds like a design made specifically for that book. The thing is, there is no need to purl a whole rug when it is generally easier to knit than to purl, and a purl is just the back side of a knit stitch. So you could knit the whole thing in whatever shape you like and just turn it over to have a purl stitch rug.
