Q: What is size rug would a 14.2hh connemara type pony need? Also what basic rugs would a pony whos turned out and stabled need? Thanks
Average Rug Sizes
Q: I have a shag rug in my room. It's right infront of my mirror where I brush my hair, so now there is always hair caught in the shags of the rug. Also, dog hair gets caught in it from my dog. Vacumming doesn't get the hair out.How do you clean a shag rug? I need to get the hair out of it!Help!
I suggest...brushing it/raking it. Sounds weird but back in the 70's when shag rug was in, raking was introduced to the carpets. If you rake it, it combs the direction of the carpet, but also pulls materials in from deep within the carpet. If this doesn't work...try a lint brush with teeth. Not a roller that picks up sticky stuff.
Q: i wana get a russian tortoise can i keep it on carpet in its tort table.
it would not be recommended to keep a tortoise on carpet, when the tortoise wees and poos it will soak in and after a while would really smell and harbor germs, it could be a potential source of disease and infection so best stick to the recommended substrates, they are much more hygienic and easier to clean
Q: I want to have like a bright teal color of carpet in my bedroom but I'm having troulbe finding it. Does anyone know where I can find some? Thank you!lt;3
If you mean wall to wall carpeting, you just have to check at carpet stores until you find the colour you want. They might or might not have every colour in stock but you can look at their samples. If you mean an area rug, it will be really hard to find. I looked for a teal-tone area rug for a couple of years until I found one at Ikea. You can have carpet off a roll cut to size and bound on the edges, too, for an area rug.
Q: My sister-in-law gave us a lovely rug as a house warming gift 10 years ago. I prefered using the old wash and rinse method of cleaning it. It wasn't anything very expensive but it was, is, lovely.I lifted it to wash and store away for the summer but was saddened to see a thick layer of yellow dust like stuff exactly where the rug was laying. It seems the bottom layer of the rug has aged and is crumbling away into dust.Is there anything I can do to save it?
I expect you could get an upholsterer to re-line the back with something tough...call a few and ask.
Q: We've lived in our house for almost two years and have the most annoying rug in the living room. It sheds constantly and it's like having a pet! I'm getting really sick of it as don't like putting my baby son down on the floor to play as he ends up covered in white fibres and if they get on his hands, they're in his mouth! No amount of vacuuming seems to help. I'm thinking about getting a new rug, but worried about spending a fortune only to have the same problem again! Does anyone know any types of rug that won't shed? I've read that wool ones are the worst... any general rug advice appreciated!!!
Hi there I don't know what your budget is but if I had a baby I would do one of two things. remove the carpet and put down a floating floor and use a baby blanket or barricade off a section section of floor make sure that section is again properly covered with baby blanketing
Q: I found a nice rug I want to put in my daughter's room, it says that its a 40 X 27. I don't know how big that is like a 4 X6 or 5X8 or a 8X10 so if you know please let me know.
close to 3 1/2 feet x 2 1/2 feet..it is more like a runner that goes down hallways, or paths in the house people usually walk..this is no good if you are looking for aN AREA rug..for this is very narrow...Or yet not even a runner..more of A small door mat type rug
Q: Hi i was planning on buying a traditional looking rug for my living room to go underneath a cherrywood coffee table what i wanted to know is what are the measurements I shold look out for? I don't want a huge area rug or a runner but a rectangular rug big enuf that the coffee table can go on it but not too big that takes up half the living room. THanks looking for measuremets!
Hi there...rugs are always a problem..what shape, what size...what color...what pattern? Gad...but your furniture (I'm told) should fit with the front legs on the rug or right up against the rug... the size of the rug, I mean, should fit the size of the seating arrangement, not the coffee table, otherwise, it will look like you set a coffee table on your rug...which would be distracting instead of integrating. By a rug big enough to fit or join the furniture. A rug big enough to fit your coffee table is too small by standard reasoning.
Q: Including installation fees, padding, taking out the old carpet, and the material, how much would it cost to re-carpet my 17 x 14 foot bedroom with basic brown carpeting?
Depends on where you live, and the quality of the carpet. If it's a medium quality, and you don't live in an expensive area; around $400.
Q: Hi I am fairly new to knitting and I am trying to learn how to knit a quot;purl stitchquot; rug out of a book I just purchased. The book doesn't have very good instructions. If anyone has perhaps a youtube video they could share I would love to see it. Please help! :(
I don't think a purl stitch rug is a standard thing that would have a video. It sounds like a design made specifically for that book. The thing is, there is no need to purl a whole rug when it is generally easier to knit than to purl, and a purl is just the back side of a knit stitch. So you could knit the whole thing in whatever shape you like and just turn it over to have a purl stitch rug.
