Q: Okay so I know a lot of you are like ew, why does your carpet smell? But I need some serious help its embarrassing. My aunt smokes and I borrowed some shoes from her and if you've ever come in contact with a smoker you know the smell gets into everything. My room started to smell of musty cigerette's and I found it was the carpet because of the shoes. I've tried this Glade Carpet Room Odors but it just seems to mask the smell terribly instead of getting rid of it. I'm thinking I might have to clean it on hands and knees, using some soap and water.
You can purchase carpet fresh and place this on the carpet 15 minutes before you vacuum and then vacuum it up. It may take several applications over a few weeks to cure the problem. I used baby powder and that worked just fine. Don't inhale the powder when you put it down. Or you can use any other scented body powder. I like the fragrance better than carpet fresh.
Q: I have two dogs and I am so tired of all the fur on the rugs.
If you are asking about area rugs, then the braided rugs aren't too bad for that but they can slip so need something under it to stop the slipping (stitching rubber sealer rings in random places can work)..I have a couple of natural coloured sheep skin rugs that seem good..the hair from my dog (who sleeps on one a lot or from the cats - have two) doesn't seem to stick to it at all! The only problem I have with the sheepskin is that you have to have it specially cleaned...but looks great.
Q: So we recently just moved into a new house, and my room is hardwood flooring. I have this HUGE empty space in the middle of my room and want to get a rug.Well since everything else in my room is pink, where can I find a pink rug?Possibly around the size of 5ft x 4ft.Oh and for under 40 dollars.I just need the store names pleasssssse (:
Also look around when dorm furniture and sales start, you'll see a lot of pink.
Q: I'm interested in re-carpeting our new house in two small bedrooms, which are approximately 12x14 each. I'm assuming carpet is $1.50 per square foot, but I have no idea about carpet padding.I'm looking into Home Depot for installation. What do you think a rough estimate for my budget should be?Thanks!
For that priced carpet, budget a minimum of 3$ a s/f for that carpet to be installed with a basic 5 1/2 or 6 pound pad. . Doing those measurements you have 336 s/f. Budget a minimum 1000$. Some times places like HD have specials to install whole house for 99$. This will bring costs down a lot. Closer to the 800$ range. Always budget a bit more for any surprises such as disposal of the old. Rip up if your not doing it and the outside chance of sub floor repair, etc. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q: My carpet is threadbare and needs replacing. The kids are almost grown and pets live outside. Should I get a timber floor or go with carpet again. Which is easier to keep clean? I know that carpet is dirty but it also hides a lot. If you have a timber floor and then get rugs, aren't you getting the vaccuum out anyway? What do you think?
Well, carpets are quite unhygienic even if they wouldn't show the dirt and dust. They too promote molds that can also cause respiratory problems to those who may want to pay you a visit. Vacuuming it doesn't really get them all out... It's like you don't see them but at the back of your mind you know it's just an illusion:) Hardwood flooring, laminates, or any hardsurface flooring are very easy to clean and gives your place a whole new look:) Tehre's a whole lot out there that you can choose from to get the design style that you want. Rugs to accent your home are not much of a hassle to clean really, it'd be just a small space compared to carpets....and you can remove them anytime you wan...wash them even:) Since you have no pets and now have grown kids, time to treat yourself with hardwood floors:) It will add to the value of your home too:) Am sure you'll love them just like every customer I've encountered these past years who opted to get rid of their carpets:)
Q: How do you get a vomit smell out of carpet? Is there something around the house I can use or is there a certain product needed? What would work best?No jokes please! Thanks!
febreze, just spray it on the carpet.
Q: I have dark brown furniture and i just painted my walls beige and gold! Would a dark color carpet make it look trendy? i thought of choosing dark purple as a carpet color, what do u think?
Beige Walls
Q: I'm looking for a new rug for a private elementary school library. It must be clear colors, thick enough not to roll on the edges and steam-cleanable. Any ideas?
First off - Rugs/Carpet usually do not Wear out. Matting or crushing is what the consumer perceives to be wear, but it is usually a result of soil build up without proper maintenance. Your rug/carpet must be professionally steam cleaned once a year and the vacuum you use must be checked to see that the bead-er bar is functioning properly to beat at the fibers. Second - price will play a huge part in the size and type. Since this is for an elementary school and they probably do not have rug/carpet in budget, my guess is that you will be paying for it? Suggestion - go to a local carpet store and pick out the least expensive to your taste, have the store order to your size and then have it bound around the edges. You can pickup double side tape and use this to hold carpet flat. This may be your least expensive way. Good Luck.
Q: Ok i am getting confused here.... The Irian Jaya is the smallest of the three? followed by the Jungel Carpet Python, and then a coastal? if that is correct could i get the...average? measurements on them?
For green timber (Morelia viridis) no. those snakes require greater beneficial perches to experience gentle the strain of having to place on the backside of the cage to thermoregulate could bring about well being problems if the snake even does so. Basking spot temps for many localities must be around ninety-ninety 4 ranges and humidity seventy 5% or larger. Animals from a clean Guinea based line might earnings from a quite cooler basking website. Ambient temperatures must be 80 two-80 4 ranges. for greater ideas on green timber i want to propose analyzing the completed Chondro by employing Trooper Walsh. Carpets (Morelia spilota ssp.) particular. at a similar time as carpets do want to climb and could make the main of perches additionally they are gentle basking on the floor of the enclosure. Basking website temperatures must be 88-ninety ranges and ambient temps 80 two-80 4 ranges. Humidity relies upon on the sub species. the concern with UTH in glass aquariums or open real enclosures is they do no longer warmth the air and are incapable of preserving proper ambient temps in those environments. In a closed environment alongside with a rack device a warmth tape controlled by employing a thermostat is able to preserving those standards. for greater ideas on carpet pythons attempt preserving Carpet Pythons by employing Kortlang and Greene (sp?) or The pythons of international Vol. a million Australia by employing Barker and Barker
Q: Its been about 24 hours since we cleaned the carpet ourselves with a rented machine but the carpet is still wet in places. Should we give it more time? Its cool in the basement, but hot and humid outside. I'm guessing opening windows is not a good idea?
That is quite bad actually. Remember mold and mildew take 72 hours to grow. A good idea is to turn on some fans to try to get the carpet and padding to dry. However it probably won't until you get whatever is left in the pad to be extracted. You're going to have to hire a professional carpet cleaner to extract the water that was left over. Find a truck mounted carpet cleaning company in your area and ask if they have a waterclaw. A waterclaw would be best for spot extraction. It focuses on removing the moisture that has seeped into the padding. They can also use a wand. This service will usually run your from $70 - $150 depending on your location and what damage has already been done to the carpet. I'm sorry there is no easy way around this. But you want to get that water extracted asap before it causes serious damage to your home and you have to get the carpet and padding placed.
