I asked her if it rains hard, should i take the rug off to dry, if i didnt get the chance to put the waterproof rug on (the waterproof one, can only go ontop of the unwaterproof one lol)She said don't worry about it, it will dry on the horse.Well it rained really heavy over night and has been raining on and off today, i am wanting to put the waterproof rug on when i feed them dinner, but i am just wondering if i should put the waterproof one over top of the already wet unwaterproof one... if that makes any sense??
- If you put a waterproof rug over the top of a wet rug- you're asking for some problems. 1. Its uncomfortable for a horse. You know the feeling of having wet clothes on- it's not nice! 2. The water can't evaporate- this can cause skin infections and a build up of bacteria. Rain scald is a big problem! If it's not that cold- and you can't put on the waterproof on without the other rug- just let the horse go without a rug until you've dried the under coat. Well, that's what I would do anyway!

- try some diaper soaker .first try iit onsome part oof the rug that can't be seen in case it takes the colour of the rug out .then use it carefully ,not too much soaker.about half a cup in a litre of water get as much of the poop off as you can before you start then gently drawing the stain to the center from each side dab on the diaper soaker. you will need to put the soaker in some warm water. when you think you have got it cleaned up get a micro cotton towel and put it over the stain and stand on it .this will soak up most of the water .you may have to repeat this to get it all out .

- My horse has a heavy weight turnout rug which has the fixed neck to keep him warm when it's extra cold and when the snow comes. I didn't see the point in getting a detachable one with this rug as he'll only be wearing it when it's super cold and will always need the neck on anyway. His medium-weight turnout rug has the detachable neck for when it's not cold enough for the heavyweight. this way you can choose if the neck has to be on or not, depending on how cold.
