We need every kind of shark to be present in the world's oceans, each fills a niche. I heard about 2 weeks ago on (Living on Earth Series/Public Radio) that a shark can reproduce asexually. This happened in a zoo. The reason this occurred was because there were no males available for the female of that particular species to mate with. The baby, unfortunately was killed by tank mates but biologists found the discovery by post mortem exam. This means sharks are unable to find males to mate with and that is not positive.

- Q:Here is the thing I know ALL dry vacuums (bag or filtered) loose air flow and never loose suction. What I noticed with dyson is, the quot;never loose suctionis more a copy right than technology patent. Why any vacuum company cannot claim no lose off air flow? Which what does the cleaning, not suction. the little shark vacuum (shaped like a football) never looses suction too. So can you show me a vacuum that looses suction?
- Yes I can! Eureka is number one, Hoover is the other. Both of mine lost both air flow and suction. Along with that they lost their light, their wheels, the brushes on the beater bar, and anything else attached to them. I would like to say they sucked, but that was the first thing they lost! Trash.

- Q:I have two upright Vacuum Cleaners, a 1997 Hoover Turbopower 2, and a 1979 Electrolux 502S, and was wondering how long the drive belts usually last ? On the Turbopower, I had to change the original belt about 3 months ago, as it was starting to slip, which means its belt lasted about 14 years. Is that normal ? Or was it incredibly lucky to last so long ?As for the Electrolux, it obviously doesn't have the original belt, and since I only got it 2 days ago, and didn't ask the previous owner when she last changed it, I have no idea how old it is, only that it still works fine.
- If you had an Orek I'd say about 3 months. Any pressure on the belt from dog hair on the brush bar would rip the belt. If you don't have long haired dogs or carpets/rugs that have loose threads that can wrap around the beater bar, straining it's movement and thus the belt, you could easily get several years out of a belt. Fortunately more are inexpensive and once you learn the trip on how to replace it, easily done.....especially the Orek...I had plenty of practice.

- lol yes it still hoovers! instead of going into a bag it goes into a compartment in the hoover, which when full u can take off and empty... then put it back on... works exactly the same as a bag hoover, just more convienient and easier!

- Most of the vacuums in consumer reports can be bought at your local stores or on the internet and the makers site. Be advised that you probably won't find the vacuums at the prices stated in consumer reports mag. I hunted all over for a hoover bagless vac that they rated good for under $200.00 (their price was about $160) the best I could do was $180.00 and it was a re conditioned vac plus I would have had to pay S H of $50.00. I don't know where they get their vacs for those prices but I wish they would include that in their reports.
