Q:I did some research and found that HEPA filters are ideal. I'm just not a vacuum expert, and I don't know which vacuum to use it on. or how.
Central vac systems as the other posters are talking about are great but hard to install in a house that's already built and expensive. But if you have the funds, it's a great way to go. My favorite of all time vacuum is the Bissell Healthy Home that I have now. It's got the HEPA filter and has a filtering technology similar to Dyson for 1/2 the price. Well made, solidly built unit with a 5 year warranty on it. On sale, you can find them for about $200, regular price is $250. My middle son (grown and on his own) is allergic to cats and we now have 4. I got the Healthy Home and did a really thorough cleaning with it. I was pretty disgusted with what my Hoover Wind Tunnel had been leaving in my carpets. Son came home for a visit a day or so after that. He didn't have near the allergy issues! We regularly use it on the upholstered furniture also. Because I have so many pets, we vacuum about every other day. Regardless of what you get, you need to keep the unit clean. There are washable filters in most units that you rinse out in the sink and let dry and replace. The cleaner the filter, the better job it does. None of the uprights do a really good job on bare floors but there is a way around that. Sears sells a generic bare floor brush that with the adapter included in the package fits right on the extension wand of the Bissell. Your upright is now a canister! Cost $13.00 plus tax. Vacuums are one of those things that you get what you pay for to a point. I wouldn't go cheap even if it has the HEPA filtration but I don't think it's necessary to spend major bucks either. I've seen too many Dyson units come back to the store for issues and have to be sent out for repair. Try telling a lady that the vacuum she spent $500 on a month ago is broken and needs to be sent out for repairs, it's going to take 6 weeks at least and no, she doesn't get a loaner.
Q:i have $700 to spend on a vacuum-what's the best brand I can get for that? I want one of those w/spec filter
I have both a Bosch and Miele and they make great high-end vacuums (w/Hepa filters). They are also eerily quiet. Make sure you shop around online and check out Consumer Reports before you spend that kind of money.
Q:I have carpet all throughout my house, white carpet! I had 4 upright vacuums in the last 2 years. My first vacuum cleaner was a dirt devil and it would pick up stuff, then throw them back. The second was the same one, I thought that the first one messed up. My third vacuum was a Bissell and it picks up really good, but it gets clogged and I had unclogged it alot of times so I just got sick of it and threw it away. Now I just bought a eureka vacuum and it worked really really good but now it's not picking anything up. Now I just don't know what vacuum to get, because I had some many. Please suggest some really good vacuum cleaners. Thanks, :)
I have had a Dyson for 2 years and wouldn't get any other now. It has done wonders for my carpet. I had an electrolux but it just wasn't doing a good job,I got the Dyson and had to empty the canister 3 times just doing the livingroom the first time I used the dyson.
Q:I just bought a Kirby Sentria and was wondering if I had been taken. Price was $2100 and I got it for $1395 with two old vaccums. Guess I was concerned, other than the price, that there is virtually no ratings on other sites about how good a Kirby is against other vacuums.
Online with Consumer reports. Personally, I have a Kirby. They are not worth what they want for them. The vacumm is great and does a great job. But, the shampooer isn't all that. It puts down the shampoo but it doesn't pick up the dirt left behind nor does it suck th water back up which is needed to get rid of the dirt. i got a bissel and love it. You would be better off getting a bissel and a much cheaper vacumm. Save your money.
Q:Do you have an amazing vacuum cleaner and what is the name and cost? I am looking for something exceptional.?
Kirby $2000
Q:How do they suck up the dirt? I have always wondered this. How does a vacuum work?
If you are serious, most work with a motor driven high velocity low volume air mover. Air is sucked through a collection reservoir of some sort, Air is admitted to the reservoir. Yes, they can make ones that are less likely to get clogged, but they must be larger, and have larger motors, reservoirs, and hoses, but those are less suitable for general purpose household or commercial cleaning due to the size of the machine and their power requirements. They are made big for industrial dust/debris collection in factories, and vacuum material collection trucks.
Q:My partner and I recieved two vacuum cleaners for Christmas and want to return one to the store. Which one should we keep and which should we return?Brand: VoltaName: GeminiModel: U4504Max: 1600 WattVoltage: 230-240V 50HzWeight: 7.5kgUses: BagsBrand: KambrookName: Jaguar KompactModel: KVC30Max: 1600 WattVoltage: 230-240V 50HzWeight: UnsureUses: BagsBest answer will be chosen ASAP =)
I would say it`s a tossup, I bought a vac recently they are all comparable in power size of the vacuum head. The only real difference is in the accessories. You just have to determine if they`re worth the price.
Q:I'm ready to pull my hair out.I can't seem to figure out how to use the standard normal distribution table to find Z.The question isWe want to investigate a claim about the average sound intensity of certain vacuum cleaners. Suppose the sound is a random variable having a normal distribution with a standard deviation of 3.6 dB. Specifically, we shall want to test the null hypothesis u = 75.20 against the alternative hypothesis u gt; 75.20 no the basis of measurements of the sound intensity n = 15 of these machines. If the probability of a Type I error is to be a = 0.03, what is the probability of a type II error for u = 77 dB.How do I use the normal distribution table to find a = 0.03. The only thing I know is that I have to do 1 - a.After that I can't seem to find out the rest of it. Please. Plesae just help with that.
It means like this.... In making a vacuum cleaner, since it is fairly complicated and made of many parts and does not come out exactly the same every time it is made, there are many small random effects that contribute to the amount of noise that the vacuum cleaner makes. The normal distribution is what we see whenever there are many random effects that are added together. If the same random effects apply every time, and the same measurement and sampling method is used the same time, then the distribution of the measurements will fit the normal distribution.
Q:My cat runs away from the vacuum cleaner whether it is off or on. Why is that?
Because they are scaredy cats
Q:I have had Sears vacuum cleaners, with beater bar and brushes, for over 40 years, now all of a sudden the bars have only brushes, no beater (to vibrate dust out of the carpet.) So I am wondering if ANY other company has them???.
I okorder to be sure, and it is as I've always thought: a beater bar is a rotating brush, so any vacuum with a rotating brush has a beater bar. The action of the brush hitting the carpet loosens dirt. I can see this happening when I use my vacuum, if I look close in good light.
