- No. Fluids move from high pressure to low pressure. Vacuum cleaners work by making a lower pressure system inside the vacuum cleaner, but because you cannot make pressure lower than what it is in vacuum (space), so the vacuum cleaners cannot pick anything up, because the pressure is higher than the vacuum of space.

- I don't know about perfectly but usually the motor is stronger, the bar is larger so more area is covered with one swipe which is good for large carpeted areas but maybe not for home with closer arranged furniture. They tend to be a bit quieter as you don't want to scare the guests. If you are talking about the wet/dry type, be careful with the cleaning heads. Without the self propelled feature on a head, they are hard to push over carpeting.

- Good one! :-P I did accidently!!! I was coming home with my vacume I just had repaired, it was a Hoover. The other car I had at the time was a hatch back. well, the clip on it had broken and I was traveling down the highway back home when the back flew open and my vacume took off, hit the ground........................ I was driving like 60 on that freeway and looking out my rear view window at my horror, the poor thing was sparking all over the place and other cars were dodging it in it's pass as it was litterly cruising backwards at high speed! - Yes, any one selling vacuum cleaners door to door will take any old vacuum in trade. Remember though that these people work on high mark up and in turn high commission. Hold out on making a quick sale to get your best deal. Many people are ripped off by door to door sales people who are desperate to make a sale. A fair commission is ok, as every one is entitled to make a living.
