Q: What are the faults of diesel generator: Electrical energy belongs to the two level of energy alternating current can be converted from mechanical energy to DC power conversion from chemical energy

Q: have several question about diesel alternator. First of all i want build micro hydro system using diesel alternator. That means i just take the alternator and using water to rotate the turbine and the alternator will produce the power. Do you think this system is possible to do? Before this i use the car alternator, and the problem is before alternator connected to the battery i get about 3000 RPM, but when i connect the alternator to the battery and field current occur, the RPM dropped to 500 RPM. So the alternator can't produce the current. So i want try using diesel alternator. Since we know diesel alternator power output in AC, so no field current needed. If i get around 3000 RPM, whether diesel alternator produce the power? Or it same with car alternator.: I have always wanted to try to use hydroelectric power using a car alternator. I believe it can be done through the right ratio in a pulley system.

Q: I am purchasing a LARGE MOBILE TRAILER to be my mobile workshop. I wonder which would best regarding fumes and general maintenance. Onan approx. 7000w is my preffered choice at this point.: well gas is a much cleaner burn and gives off no fumes but it does give off alot of moisture and you will find it will quite literally rain in your trailer on cold days. also when gas evapourates from liquid to gas it absorbs the ambient heat and freezes so in really cold weather the gas bottle freezes and the heater doesn work. the only real benefit from deisel is its freezing temp and the fact that you will always have some if you run out in the van but unfortunately they do need regular servicing as they do block the filters and start to pulse and when they do that they give out blowms of smoke which isnt pleasant

Q: I am build a 40KVA permanent magnet generator for diesel engine. the customer request the voltage is DC 28V after an rectifier. may be this 28V dc charge for the battery. can someone help me how much AC voltage should be output by the permanent magnet generator?permanent magnet generator----AC ???V----rectifier---28VDC---charge to battery.: In AC side connect a series high current Choke with less no of turns take the out put use a High current bridge Diodes with suitable heat sink.For regulating out put ,In the series choke place a Dc winding that can be excited by a separate dc circuit, Increase saturation will give same voltage decrease excitation will give drop in voltage.It is like magnetic Amplifier.Set the out put voltage with pre set point or a regulating circuit.I have given rough Idea If you want further detail PM me (This only cheapest method unless you have use thyristor or others to con troll may be expensive)

Q: I am planning to buy a 20 KVA Diesel Generator. Both the vendors are confusing me over Air cooled and Liquid cooled engines. Can anyone help me to understand the pros and cons of the said engines for a commercial requirement.: Air cooled is simpler and cheaper. Water cooled can be longer lasting. If you planned on waste heat recovery , water cooled would make that easier.

Q: A concert is in the works to raise money to help save the Everglades in Florida. I am looking to get as many people interested in the cause as possible. So what would make you want to go to this concert? Bands, the host, food, activities, location, day/night, etc.: 1. Do your research on how you or your partners are going to fund an event of this magnitude. Although the Government does not give out much grant money, they are more apt to give grants to non-profit organizations or fund events such as yours where it may be something to help the community. 2. This has been a fight that has been going on for many years and now people are just starting to listen. I would say catch their attention while it's there. Market the event by telling people what the event is about beforehand and don't spring it on them by having a tree hugger come out to give a speech before or during the bands performance, Buzz Kill! You got them there, don't lose them! 3. Every great event had a great name and a catchy slogan, consult with some professionals. Try something like this! Earth for the Everglades Music Concert 08 4. Try to have musicians from all different genres to participate this way it will show the unified effort to send the message. FYI When you start looking for your musicians, try to speak to them directly and not their managers. Most managers are looking for the bottom dollar and looking out for themselves, not having the artist' best interest in mind. Most artist' are eco-conscious people so who knows? You might have their participation for a small fee this way you could spend more of that budget on other costs, marketing, ads, campaigning etc. Exploit that! Food: It's a concert so don't budget too much into having an elaborate menu, maybe sliders(turkey burgers, hamburgers), hot dogs etc. and lots of beer! Activities: Have eco-vendors at this event and you could charge them a fee for space. Games, horseshoe throwing, darts, etc. Location: Sorry don't know much about FA or the LA everglades. But I was thinking Orlando as they could accomodate an event such as yours. Time: All activities during the day and music starts at sunset. Q: I have been researching EV cars and conversions and am wondering about using a generator instead of batteries. I am not an enviro-nut concerned about making an emission free vehicle, just one that is cheap to drive. It seems to me that using a generator to power the motor, although it would use gas, would be way more efficient than a normal gas engine that is in a car, and would be lighter than batteries. Also, if it is a diesel generator I could run bio-diesel to cut back on emissions. Am I correct in this assumption?: You would be losing efficiency each time you transferred energy. Let's say a generator is 50% efficient (that is, half the energy contained in the fuel is transferred), then the electric motor is 50% efficient. Now you are already only getting 25% efficiency from the fuel. You lose efficiency because of various factors including friction and resistance. If you could get 100% efficiency, then you have just invented perpetual motion.

My main intention is how to differentiate mobile generator from others.: There is no significant difference. Any generator suitable for one of these uses could be used without change for any of the others. The term standby generator usually implies a machine which is too large to be easily moved.
