The reason I know this is because I have been involved in testing 50,000 watt diesel generator sets by applying a dead short (1000's amps) across the output. And have observed double (00) cables jumping on the laboratory floor (like a garden hose when you slam the valve shut).

- a 7kva generator isnt even that quiet. i know they say quiet but theres only so much you can do. why do you need a generator anyways? and yeah it probably would disturb the people in your apartment.
- Q: I recently seperated the generator from the engine and replaced the rear main oil seal on the engine the electric generator was only moved back about 16-18 inches to access rear main seal. job went well with no problems after completeing job I turned down rpms to about 1000 rpm It was put back in service They use it to power up refer containers from the harbor. the next day I check it and they had turned up rpms to ??? as fast as it would run and 12 refer units running off it oh it's 480 volt well it ran for a week non stop and broke down and of corse it was my fault all i did was unbolt drive plate on front of rotor from flywheel of engine .est to repair is 6,000 could this be my fault after it ran for a week or caused from hi rpms and heat related possibley
- If they need a scapegoat, you're it. However if it ran for 168 hours on a diesel engine and things were not RE-torqued/double checked
- Q: Hi.My diesel electric generator has a sticker that says Change oil every 100hrs. Use 10w-30 grade CC. But I can't find this oil anywhere. The closest I have found are 10w-30 Mobil1 synthetic oil (API SM/CF) and 15w-40 Pennzoil gold (with diesel protection, API CJ, CI, CF etc. /SM). Which one should I use?Thanks!
- I beleive that CC is obsolete. Search diesel engine oil and find the one that matches your engine type.
- Q: I want to power a water heater, a blower fan, and a small water pump continuously with a diesel generator run on Biodiesel. Is it possible to set up a system of some deep cycle batteries that will carry the load for say 1/2 hour or 1 hour and have the generator kick on automatically when the voltage drops to charge the batteriesthis way the generator will not be run continuously. What would you need to set this up? Anything besides what I have mentioned?Josh

- Why a propane unit? Propane cost more per gallon that gasoline or diesel. If you have access to natural gas it would make more sense.
- Q: Hi. I need to buy a diesel generator to run my house on. We have to run at least 3 ACs at a time. The ACs consume roughly 1500W with a surge power of 4500W.Here's my question. If I get a 12KW rated generator, does that mean that each phase can only handle 4000 KW, therefore not even enough to start an AC? i was given this formula by a sales man KVASQRT3 X V X iCan you shed some light on this problem?Greetings from Iran
- Is the house wired 3 phase or split phase or single phase? Very few houses are wired for 3 phase power. Iran uses 230/240 VAC 50Hz So from that, you need a single phase 240 VAC 50 Hz generator. A 12 kW generator at 240 volts would supply 50 amps. I'd run that to a breaker panel (if you don't already have one) and then run 10 amp lines with a 10 amp breaker to each AC. That leaves you with quite a few amps to run other appliances. You got off on a 3 phase tangent for some reason you aren't telling, but I don't think that is the way you want to go. hope that helps. .
