Q:If electric vehicles included a generator they could charge the battery while moving. It seems the best choice to me.: Because a generator runs on gas. And they do have regenerating chargers while the car is moving. They just are not a typical generator

By nature all generators generate their output voltage in cycles as they rotate, or even as they go back and forth for a linear generator. Therefore they generate AC, but the commutator converts this to DC. The commutator is a rotary switch that reverses the connection at the correct part of the rotation so that the current always flows one direction. That is DC, direct current instead of AC, alternating current. Sometimes AC generators may be called an Alternator. A shunt generator simply means it is self excited, that is the field magnet is connected across the generator's output, rather than having a separate DC generator for the field.

It appears quite dated, but its stats are as follows: it’s a 415 Volt 3 Phase Diesel Generator.On the plate of the generator:415V3 Phase640KVA520KWPower Factor 0.8902 AmpsSo my question is:We are testing the generator to its full load, now my load is at power factor 1. Would I be correct in assuming that because my load is power factor 1 that the full load of my generator is 640kW not 520kW.Or is it that my actual power loading is rated at 520kW, but that load is allowed to be inductive or capacitive to 0.8.Because it says 900 amps on the plate I am therefore under the assumption that regardless of my load characteristics, as long as I do not exceed 900 amps there should be no problem. Or is it a case that my load can only be 520kW and the highest I can allow the phase to go out is up to 640kVA.Hope that makes sense, ill edit if not. Thanks for reading.: Treat all of the figures as maximum rated outputs. The maximum power it can delivery is 520kW, that is why it says 520kW. 640kVA and power factor 0.8 should not be be exceeded either but if your load is pf1 then the 520kW will take precedence. No offence but anyone who can't interpret these numbers shouldn't really be testing equipment of this power.

Q:How would i get people to fund a bomb shelter. Of course i will guarantee them a spot for them and there closest 4 family members. I want to stock it and build. Maybe some places to get supplies.Thank you (:: Wow. Um, hang on. This is gonna take a while to write out. Okay. First, you need to have it all planned out before you can get people on board. Have a blueprint of the bomb shelter and explain how it will work. You should hire an architect or engineer for the floor plans. If it's 25 people then you could have 5 rooms with two bunk beds and a single in each. For air ventilation you could have heavy duty industrial air filters. For food, I would suggest those emergency buckets that have 200 meals in them (they sell them at Costco). You should also have a little farm and fish tank in there do constantly have food replensished. When you have it all planned out then you could put an ad in the paper, Craigslist, or just spread the word. Make sure you write up a contract. I can't believe I answered this.
