Q:I think it's from someone shaving in there. I don't know but it takes like 15 minutes for the thing to drain. It's driving me insane. I tried to unclog it with a butter knife but that didn't work It just made it worse.
You should try Draino. For hair clogs, Draino Max Gel Clog Remover works best, but any Draino will do! Good luck!
Q:bathroom sink?
As others said, it keeps the smell from the sewer from coming back into your house. Also - that U-shaped bend in the pipes is called a trap.
Q:My bathroom has an old sink that needs to be replaced. At the same time, the faucet and related items would be replaced. If I hired a handy man what would be the estimated cost to me for removing the old and putting in a new sink with all the related items including labor and parts? What would be the estimated cost if a plumber did the job?The new sink would not be anything fancy, just a standarized sink that would be used in a condominium. Thanks
Depending On How Much Remodel You Are Planning On Doing, Entire Bathroom All Fixtures Replaced (Sink, Toilet, Tub, Shower, Accessories, Flooring, Etc.) Done By Yourself & Handyman, $2,000-$3,000 & $4,000-$5,500 If Done By A Contractor. (Keep In Mind If You Use A Licensed Contractor Your Project Will Be Covered A Warranty, Otherwise You Assume Full Responsibility) If You Are Merely Replacing A Sink, Faucet, & Vanity, Including Some Minor Plumbing Work, Yourself & Handyman, $450-$650 & $650-$1,000 If Done By A Contractor. Again The Cost Of The Fixtures & Accessories You Choose Can Effect The Cost Majorly. Gods Speed.......................Best Of Luck !
Q:Ceramic one Taiwan basin is good or a good platform
Table pots of water is easy to water out, cleaning trouble, one pot convenient, the use of space. Beautiful and almost, you used to know, I used to use the basin pot, and finally for the one
Q:how do you fix a hole and crack in a Porcelain bathroom sink?
I wouldnt recommend fixing a porcelain sink as there may be further hidden damages you cant detect. Thats why toilets are always replaced when a crack appears. Considering people usually exert some force on sinks and the constant temperature fluctuations from water, hidden damage may suddenly cause the sink to further crack or face a catastrophic failure (shatters or falls apart causing property or personal damage). Porcelain sinks are pretty affordable these days and would be worthwhile for you to invest in a new one to reduce your risk. Please note if you do change the sink, you will need to replace or transfer the taps to the new model, a new strainer/PO and potentially some minor changes in your drainage.

Q:so when my daughter got out of the tub last night it would not drain (it was empty this morning)also when we were done brushing teeth last night and this morning water was not draining from sink? any ideas why?
It sounds like the main branch that connects the two drains together may have a obstruction! More than likely it may be hair in the bathtub drain, and the sink. Try this: Fill up a large pan of water and put it on the stove, now heat that up to a boiling point. While that is heating up, go into bathroom and remove stopper from tub drain (if possible) and see if the drain is just clogged with hair. If it is, then use needle nose pliers or a hook of some sort to pull all of it out. That should do the job. Then continue with the step below. If you cannot get the stopper off or there's no visible obstruction, then continue to te next step.. Just make sure that both sink stopper are up and no visible obstruction is in the way. Next, carefully take the pan of boiling water and dump it right down the tub drain...let it sit for a couple minutes. Then next put a wet hand rag into the overflow (right above drain in tub) to cover up the opening so no air goes through the overflow for the next step. Now use a plunger and gently start plunging the water down. The trick to plunging is not to force the air down, but the suction up is where it works best! Pulling it up hard, and then gently pushing back down repeatably works well. If after 5 minutes no luck..wait until water goes down all the way, and then repeat the boiling water and plunging 2-3 times and that should do it. Let me know if that works for you.
Q:What is the difference between the basin and the basin basin faucet
The only difference between the basin and the basin basin faucet is the height, mainly with the corresponding basin.

Q:I undid the P trap under my bathroom sink to clear a clog and now when I put the whole thing back together it leaks out of the top of the slip joint that connects the down pipe from the sink drain to the j-pipe. The down pipe is 1 - 1/4 and the j-pipe is 1-1/2 and I am using the correct reducer gasket. It was not leaking (and never had) before I took it apart. I have tried using a new gasket and teflon tape on the threads of the slip joint to no avail. Please give me some idea as to what the problem might be. Here is a link to a couple of pictures to show the general set-up and the specific problem: http://www.flickr /photos/sesquilia/?saved=1Thanks to anyone that can help.
