Q:kitchen sink: it sounds like theres a waterfall underneath it and, from what we can tell, it seems to be leaking from the vertical pipe.bathroom sink: sounds like a very tiny waterfall. It mainly sounds like a water faucet does when you have it turned on at normal speed. The water is draining off of the bottom part of the sink bowl so it must be leaking right around there.help please! thanks!

its most likely the sink basket. it takes some work the plumbers puttee between the sink and the basket is gone ,or try tithing the nut on the basket not easy ether .there is special tools of course it would be easier to call a plumber or a friend that is handy with repairs, there is so much that maybe wrong under the sinks , but inexpensive to replace the plumber on the other hand..... same for bathroom but the drain is call a pop-up check all the drain fitting nut only use your hands to tithin them

Go underneath the sink and remove the U-bend, you can just screw it off with your hands. Then clean it out. You have a blocked pipe. Just make sure to put a pan underneath as a small amount of water may spill out as you are removing it. Alternativly you could try mr. Muscle sink and drain unblocker, it might work. Good luck

Q:My bathroom sink seems to smell regardless of what you dump down it. The bath drain is fine along with all the rest of the drains in the house besides the bathroom sink drain... What should be done to make the smell go away for good?(while being cost effective as I am renting an apartment?)... Should I just have a plumber try something or ? Thanks for your detailed answer... Install the stopper in the sink. Add one cup of bleach to the sink. Run water, slowly to prevent splashing, and allow the water to run into the overflow hole of the sink. Keep running the water until the bleach smell is gone. Before doing this, make sure your sink has an overflow hole, as some of the newer sinks do not. Many times, the smell is caused by mold or other bacteria in between the sink body. This is where the bleach water will go, and then through the drain piping. It will take care of either odor problem.

Is/was it leaking? That may be why. Use some strong citrus cleaner and scrub.

The stoppage is at the junction of the sink and tub connection point. Drain-0 only works in the p-trap. Home Depot sells a liquid drain cleaner in a 1 qt black bottle that's packed into a plastic bag. It's a very strong acid. I believe it is hydrochloric acid. Follow directions and pour the recommended quantity down the sink drain. It will work it's way down the the stoppage. Let it sit for about 1 hr. I've used it twice with success. I'm saying the sink drain because the stoppage appears to be at the junction of the sink and tub drain with the major stoppage on the sink side.

Q:My bathroom sink has been clogged for a while, so I tried to use a wire hanger to unclog it. Mistake. It got stuck. I managed to get it out after a bit, but now it's completely clogged with this black stuff. It doesn't smell and is squishy. What is it? Did I completely ruin the sink..?

Your sink is probably OK, just a little dirty The black stuff is soap, grease, hair and whatnot. Go down the hardware and get a plumber's helper which is a thing like a big rubber suction cup on a short handle. Also called a force cup or plunger. See the gizmo with the red rubber cup in the source. Nice and cheap and reusable. Place the cup over the drain and hold it there while you run a little water into the sink - no more than 1 inch (2.5cm) deep. Push the handle up and down until the blockage eases. When it starts to drain, add a little more water and keep doing it. Once the drain is working OK, put in a good shot of laundry detergent and hot water and leave it there a while, overnight would be good but an hour or so is OK, then use the cup again to clear out anything that has loosened. If you use the plunger every now and then the drains will stay pretty well clear.

Q:Can the bathroom of the bathroom be able to wash clothes directly? Feeling pretty dirty, but modern bathroom decoration, especially small bathrooms are not considered to put the wash basin area ah?

The basin can be ah just you have to pay attention to the big clothes on the area is not big enough

Before you waste any money on those one-shot solutions, try this: Find a largish pair of pliers and take the P-trap under the sink loose. Put a bucket or large bowl under before you get it loose. Any water still in the pipe and sink will come out. Tip the P-trap (it's called that because of its shape, not because it's full of pee) and look in it. Can you see the clog right there? Fish it out. Problem's fixed, no money spent. No clog? Reach up into the tailpiece coming down from the sink. Sometimes the clog gets stuck up there (weird when it does, but it happens). Reach into the pipe going into the wall. Fish around, try everything. A cheap drain snake costs about what a gallon of Drano costs, and besides working better, works over and over. Try that instead. Your Drano you use one time and it's gone; the drain snake you use now, hang it up and use it next time, and next time, etc. Got it all? Great, put it all back together. Check for leaks. Job's done! Got a leak? Make sure the washers are pointing the right direction, if they have a shape. Rubber ones are just rectangular in section, hard plastic ones are cones. The nut bears against the flat side, the sharp side wedges between the two pipes as you tighten the nut. Good luck with it.

Q:I cleaned out the Tube under the bathroom sink, there was gunk in there. However when i put the tube back in it's still clogged. I even cleaned the shaft running from the drain to the tube.

Try cleaning the stopper up above remove the pop up assembly and clean the hair out the hair will pile up in the pop up assembly . Best of luck
