- it depends on what kind of material the sofa is made out of leather is really difficult to fix but most other things can just be sewn up if your decent with a needle and thread, otherwise contact the manufacturer and they can normally fix it... for a price
- Q: HeyI am moving out to new apartment and wanted to go for a new sofa. My husband insists on having a full recliner sofa which has dimensions 90#92;L x 42#92;H x 45#92;D. Now the problem is that the recliner might be just too big and bulky for the apartment(that's what I think,though not sure). - You need to use a good quality water based foam leather cleaner. DO NOT use anything containing oils, waxes or silicones. (Most 'conditioners' contain waxes or oils) and furniture polish contains silicones BABY WIPES are the worst thing you can use as they will destroy the finish on your leather.
- Q: I just purchased a grey sofa. In our living area, it looks green! We have greyish tan walls which we will probably change. The first thing I wanted to look at in our room though is the lighting. In the afternoon when light is coming in, the sofa looks charcoal grey like it is supposed to. This is our den/basement and we have fluorescent lighting. I was wondering what color of lighting should we go with to tone down the green in the grey? I looked online and they have full spectrum, cool white and warm white. Our current bulbs don't say whether they are cool,warm or full spectrum. Thanks!
- Most lighting stores and even Big Box building stores like Home Depot and Lowes have a display with various color temperatures of light bulbs, particularly fluorescents. Can you take a sample of the sofa fabric with you, like the cover to one of the cushions? Bring it and place it under the lighting samples and see which will give you the color you like. I was a lighting consultant and I tend to think a cool white or bright white will be your best bet -- it's in the blue spectrum rather than warmer yellow tones that you'll find in warm white. Even if bulbs don't have a color name on them they should have a 4 digit color temperature number like 4100, 3000 or 3500. You want something 4000 or higher which will be closer to what's called northern sky light. You can get bulbs up to 5000 or 7500 temperature but they will be a bit dimmer than the 4100 bulbs though the color will be truer.

- Leather will oxidize over time just like a penny. It will also ingest dyes from fabrics like blue jeans. Once this happens nothing will fix it. They are great looking in your roped off living room with the plastic covers on the shades but not very practical for everyday use. The better leather sofas will have a maintenance and warranty but just for the frame. We're talking the several thousand dollar ones. Leather needs to be conditioned to hold it's moisture and cleaned. It is highly susceptible to damage from UV rays.

- This End Up Furniture! I worked in a children's group home for developmentally disabled for almost 7 years and those kids were allowed to be monsters. The furniture had been there several years prior to me working there. It is a vinal or cloth cover on a very sturdy wood frame. I have never seen it split, tear or be punctured. - Light browns, tans, sage green, grays for wall colors and depending on what your looking for maybe even a a pop of orange on a pillows. The bigger and brighter you room, the darker you can go with your color.

- looks like you have a ton of answers, but none so far mentioned this. First Tell your cat the post it for it, and that the sofa is NO. put catnip on the tower like everyone else, and take your cat to the tower, put it's paws up on it then say goood and reward the cat, do this a few times... then the next day or sometime when you catch your cat going after the sofa, you can grab it, put it's paws on the couch bap it on the nose with a finger and say No!! then put it's paws up again, No!!, and do that till it takes it's paws down... then put it at the scratching post and reward, and pets. I know it sounds crazy, but I've got 9 cats and leather couches they dont touch... I've also got 3 posts and 5 towers.. 9 food bowls and 4 huge litter boxes... no smell tho cuz I clean the boxes all the time...
