- Q: I have an off-white microfiber sofa, and the cushions are getting dirty. They unzip so I can machine wash them, but I don't know the settings, or if I need to use some kind of special gentle soap. Also, can I use the spray stain remover beforehand? There are some spots that I'm extra worried about. Thanks in advance!

- Having had worked for a charity as peter is talking about for over a year, they will take the sofa...but only if its in decent shape. Most places won't take it if it has holes, stains, smells funny, or just plain has an ugly pattern. And tricking them into coming by telling them its good (if it isn't) just makes them angry. But here's an option...If they say they can't take it due to its condition...MOST of them offer Hauling service. You pay them, they take it to the landfill for you. You just have to ask, they don't usually offer it right up front. Good luck with the couch.

- Well if you are buying a new sofa you really need to think about how you will use your sofa. Do you just use it when you are entertaining people? If so do your friends hang out, drink, and lounge on your sofa, or do they sit properly and not move around a lot? The fabric on the sofa should be good for the way you use it. If you need it to be easy to clean, I think that micro fibre is easier to clean.

- Q: Which ones are comfortable to sleep on for lengthy visits? My in-laws could stay for 3 months at a time. For the folding beds, I mean those cot-like ones with thin mattresses, not murphy beds.
- Totally recommend aerobeds. The others are much less comfortable - the sofa beds have a bar across them, and the folding cots are too thin. Make sure you get the aerobed that has the frame, not the one that goes directly on the floor. The other thing you could look at is a thick mattress futon - very comfortable.

- I think you are being petty. If you want a new sofa pay for it yourself. I have cleaned up all kinds of spills on carpets and chair and left no stain behind. Your sofa was probably made of cheap material and you should have had it scotch guarded when you bought it. Or you used the wrong kind of cleaner or applied it in an incorrect way.
