- Q: I have oil heat, with forced air.. We have, what we believe to be, is an air intake vent on the floor.. no heat comes out so we think it just pulls air in. Can I put a sofa over it? There is like an inch or two of clearance from the bottom of the sofa to the floor.

- I'd go for the leather. I have a good quality light tan leather couch that I bought 35 years ago, it's still in almost perfect condition, I've always had 2/3 small dogs.There's a small mark on one of the cushions from a wet rawhide bone that dried and stuck to the leather. There's a navy blue, medium grade leather couch in my TV room that's 20 years old, the dogs always pile on it at night, it's in fair condition.
