- Q:So I am interested in finding a sofa/lounger from the Victorian era. I don't necessarily want an original from that era.. a modern duplicate is fine (I assume that will be cheaper than an original). - Q:im thinking about buying a new bed and want to save some space in my room so i thought maybe a sofa bed. i was just wondering because i suffer from back pain now and then but do sofa beds damage your back in anyway over a long period of time because i would use it as my permanent bed? cheers
- It all depends on the sofa bed. Futons for instance are fine, they have a quite hard mattress, and they are OK for using regularly, but maybe not for many years. Other sofa beds are usually for occasional use and therefore not necessarily good for your back etc. You could get a futon and top it with a reasonably good mattress, as this would also be higher and therefore more easy to get in and out of bed. I'm sure that would be better, but it would not save you much space in the room.
- Q:He is 3 years old and fixed. He pees on the couch all the time. He does this right after going out to do his stuff!! He is a good dog, very obedient and quiet. The couch smells bad and no one can sit there now. If I put a cover over the couch, he'll pee the cover too. What do I do? I am getting MAD! Also, is there a way to take the smell out of the couch? - The first thing to do is througly clean your sofa and the spots he's peeing, dogs noses are alot stronger than human's noses and all though you might think you've cleaned the urine up there will still be traces of it, this is intisein your dog to go back and pee again and again, Its almost like a sign is up saying PEE HERE! you need to use a strong disinfectent cleaner and really scrub it. After the sofa has had a really good clean if your dog goes to pee on the sofa again then use a quick and snappy AAHAA which usally works well for dogs other wise use a NO but only say it once - do NOT over use the word, and as your sayin this remove your dog from the sofa and straight outside, if you only do this 3 or 4 times it will click in your dogs head that the sofa is not a place to pee, and that outside it! if your dog sits on the spot on the sofa without going to the toilet, give him a nice treat and say good boy in a really happy voice, half the time dogs do NOT understand what you are saying but do understand the tone, eventually rule the treats out and you will have finished the process and be left with a dog that doesnt pee!
- Q:Pottery Barn tells me that a sofa that they have with overall dimensions of 80w x 36d x 36h will not fit through my doorway. They say that the diagonal depth of the sofa is 32 and that's what determines whether or not it will fit. However, the sofa has removable back cushions and the actual back of the sofa is 29. Will it fit through the door?
- Having moved several sofas myself, it's very doable. Of course you can't just set the sofa flat and breeze it thru the doorway.Remove all cushions. Get a friend to help you. Tilt the sofa forward at an angle and see if it will fit in the doorway that way. You may need to remove the legs. My huge sofa was brought in by standing it on end, and moving the sofa back thru the doorway, then turning it slightly to get the seat portion in the door. Professional movers do this all the time.

- Do not declaw your cat, there are some products in the pet stores that will help you: there are a spray with a smell cat don't like, you won't smell it but they will, I think it is called stay away or something like that besides that there are some sticky tapes to put it in sofas and plants, try those. You should buy a scratching post, it is very necessary, and you should trim its nails but you have to be careful doing that avoiding the pink zone, just trim the end of the nail. If nothing of those suggestions work, I have seen some nails cap in the pet stores, I think those would be uncomfortable but it is better than declawing.
- Q:need ideas to clean my sets of sofas?
- If they are fabric sofa set you can use a steam cleaner. As for the chemical to use I find Tide detergent mixed with hot water works great. For tough stains, the night before apply a stain remover and let it sit. The next day use steam cleaner w/laundry detergent mix. Wash once and vacuum water off twice.

- There are so many models out there right now it's hard to say. The most comfortable one I've every slept in is our current sofa bed, got it from a family member and it's years and years old.

- Wipe down the sofa with warm water on a soft rag. Consider washing it with saddle soap. I have only used it on shoes, handbags and boots, so no idea how long this will take. You can find it with shoe police at your local store. Or there may be some type of leather treatment cream that will restore the look of your sofa. As for the dog, consider getting a blanket that stretches all the way across the seat of the sofa, fold it in half lengthwise, and insert long pieces of aluminum foil between the layers. Put this on the sofa. Dogs and cats hate it and will avoid the sofa. It will protect the sofa when you cannot. Be sure to tuck it in firmly around the edges when you are not at home. (It will look fine if you choose a blanket that goes with the decor; try it first with something you have on hand.)
- Q:My gf's cat won't stop pissing on the leather sofa. I finally threw it out and got a new one and sure enough, w/in 2 days, he pissed on it again. I soaked the thing w/ the Nature's Miracle orange solution and scrubbed but i can still smell it. I sprayed it w/ the deterrant so he hasn't done it since that first time on the new one but i'd really like to get this couch not smelling like cat piss. Any suggestions?

- I bought a sofa from jennifer convertibles and they delivered unpacked and assembled for me . there is always a delivery fee, ours was like $75 dollars
