- Q:i moved my sofa forward off wall as it was too far from tv. what should i put behind sofa now to fill in that space?

- Q:I am decorating the sitting room in my new house and I am looking for some advice on sofa colours I am putting down a French oak floor, the room is fairly big so I was going to buy an extra large sofa and a large sofa, the colors available are beige, caramel, Berry red, and chocolate brown The walls are similar in colour to magnolia. And I was considering painting the chimney breast red with a paint called Tir Na Nog, its not a really bright red it is an older richer red My initial thought was to go for beige, but a friend recommended an extra large sofa in caramel and the large in berry red, she thinks the beige would be hard to keep clean with two dogs in the house.Do you think this colour scheme would work, or would I be better of sticking to one colour, and if so what colour do you think I should go for, or what colour do you think I should stay away from?
- Berry red would be a great color, but I like the idea of getting two colors. If I were you, I would purchase the XL sofa in berry red and the L sofa in beige (that will keep the room lighter, not too dark), I wouldn't worry about the dogs too much, just keep them off the sofa!

- Q:My 19 year old step son ate a greasy breakfast, sitting on my fine designer sofa. He knows NOT to eat any thing sitting on the sofa, and that he is to sit at the table, or bar, when eating. ( His dad and I were out of town.) His plate spilled on to the sofa, and he smeared the food on it, trying to clean it up. The sofa is now stained. We have tried cleaning it with stain remover and upholstery cleaner. The area around the stain has lightened up and the stain remains. So, my designer sofa, that I purchased before I married the teen's dad, is damaged.It will be very expensive to replace the damaged designer sofa. I told my husband I think the teen should pay for some of the damage. What is your opinion? Do you think the teen should pay anything?

- Q:They seem very comfortable, but those thin wooden slats and those soft plastic hinges that keep them together don't inspire much trust. Is this a sofa bed only for occasional sleeping and not recommended for other activities(wink)?
- It's okay, not great, though. Very firm, so if you like that, good. I would not suggest it for someone who is overweight or has a bad back -- and certainly not for long-term. IKEA's Sultan mattresses are relatively inexpensive, and pretty good, if you're looking for a cheap bedding solution. I wouldn't look at the BEDDINGE as a long-term, every-night bed, though.
