Q:cleaning oil marks from microfiber sofa?
Never use laundry products on fabrics outside the laundry. They have ruined thousands of yards of carpeting in the US, including bleach and, yes, Oxy Clean. These products should only be used on white fabrics. Professional cleaners carry the necessary products on their van that remove grease/oil stains. One product that is popular is Pro's Choices's Citra Gel. A white creamy solution that cleans well and is easily rinsed out. Unfortunately, the homemaker does not have the ability to fully extract the combinations of solutions from the fabric. Also, micro fiber material can leave water marks/stains if only a partial area of the sofa is cleaned. You need to make the entire surface wet/damp to prevent that from happening. If you decide to resort to cleaning the sofa yourself, try using a mixture of dye free dish soap in a spray bottle as your cleaner, mist the whole sofa with a spray bottle of warm water and than wipe it down with a terry cloth towel. Sponge the stained area repeatedly to remove the soap and grease. Dye free means not colored. Use a clear or white dish soap so you will not accidently dye the fabric.
Q:Possible ghost or something paranormal in a sofa?
I was having a nice nab on the sofa when somebody came in with this gadget things at his hand and don't know what it is? So I have to run from it!
Q:how do i remove pet hair from leather sofa?
You need to vacuum the leather removing the cushions if you can so that you can get to the platform of the sofa. If you do not use a brush attachment be careful not to scratch the leather surface with the vacuum. Wipe leather over with a damp cloth or with a spray leather cleaner made for your particular type of leather. Hope this helps
Q:what do you say? couch or sofa?
i say couch, sometimes i say sofa. but rarely
Q:Having breathing problems around leather sofa!!!!!!!!Am I mad?
Hmm i doubt you are allergic to the leather from the sofa. In my opinion it would most likely be from the newly fitted carpet. There are different types out there, and some are well known to affect asthma sufferers (even if you dont have asthma the small fibres can affect your breathing). If i were you i would go see your doc and book a full allergy screening before you make any hasty decisions.
Q:How to repair a leather look-alike sofa?
You can go to JoAnn Fabrics or your local hardware store. The store should have a vinyl and leather repair kit. This kit contains small vials of color that you will mix together to match your sofa. Then there is a little tool that gets heated and melts the color and you fill it in the slit. Well -- read the instructions carefully so you don't miss a step. if you take your time, you should be able to repair the cut so it won't even be visible. I also use this on car dash boards and vinyl seats. If you're not sure about this, get a couple of trial pieces and practice a little bit before you go for broke. Oh and if you need a small patch, you can turn the couch upside down and carefully loosen the dust cover on the bottom. Hanging over the sides should be a couple of inches of excess material that you might be able to clip.
Q:Can I get an ivory leather sofa if I have beige walls and carpet?
You can if a) you have a REALLY big windows with a great view, b) if you have other colourful decor.
Q:Are Ikea sofas comfortable?
Actually I have an Ikea sofa Karlstad in my living room and it's not the most comfortable couch, but I got it because I needed one real bad and at least I can change the color if I want. A couple of people have slept on it without complaints. I have a small place and it works for what I need. My boyfriend hates my couch though-lol. Anyway, it has a warranty on it which is nice and it's not the type of couch that has a slipcover If you want to change it you actually take it apart and it's got these very thick pieces of velcro which are virtually invisible unless you take the couch apart. It never looks raggedy, it's always tight so you would never know by looking at it that you can change it. That part I really like. Knowing that when I get tired of the color I can just go to Ikea and for about $50 I can get a new couch again. It's definitely a practical couch, but it's no Laz-boy or anything. I put a couple of pillows on it and it's pretty comfy for me. I think my boyfriend is just a guy, he likes those big ugly leather chairs that you can kick your feet up on.
Q:How good of quality are Broyhill sofas?
had a sofa and love seat was not impressed went back to Clayton Marcus
Q:Did you call it a couch, sofa or .....?
I had no idea until I did a search, and Ju Ju had the correct info. I had forgotten the term, 'daveno' which our family used and 'davenport' before that. According to Wickipedia, 'daveno' was used mainly in the northwest. That was during the 50's at one location I lived. After my mom got a new designed couch, around 1958, it became a couch and no longer a daveno, or the earlier 'davenport'. I don't know when the word 'couch' became popular, but I know I used it when we all moved into a new house with a basement 'party room', and we had a couch in there. I never knew any- one use the term, 'sofa' in the nw. city I grew up in. Since in the early to mid 50's we used the word, 'daveno' toward two sectionals that if placed together, would make a stand- ard length couch, I wonder if that was the actual term for the shorter, two seater version of a 'davenport'. At my grandmas early house, she had a 'davenport' that was standard length, and was a puffy overstuffed couch, with very thick cushions. They mostly were during the 40's. I think it was 'comfort' not looks, as the desire when those were made. They were huge and heavy. And probably made to last a lifetime back then. And could have, had the 50's not brought in a modernization of living room furn- iture. Seems the newer, the cheaper components, and nothing holds up to last a lifetime anymore.
