Q: I have an old, black leather living room sofa set that needs to be replaced. I've been hoping that Costco would have them on sale, but they only sell leather sofas in different shades of brown. Is there a reason that Costco vendors would only sell sofas in brown? Is brown more popular than black? Q: I have these horrid terracotta coloured sofa covers. They are horrid because our carpet is wine red - so they don't go! They are unused - so are the 'spare' set...but our current set has seen the last of its days. I am hoping to save money and not have to buy a new sofa - but just make sure that these sofa covers are a better colour than they currently are!Dylon pre-dye - which is for removing colour seems to work okay. But it hasn't removed enough for me to feel that it is okay to then dye them - I am going for beige. As the carpet is already dark, I do not feel that dark sofa covers will work. So - I was wondering if I could further use bleach for these covers (they are cotton) and how much I would need to use in the washing machine for them to do the job. Q: i currently have used sofas that are quite uncomfortable to sit on. i have a bachelor pad. the sofa is the most used furniture in my apartment coz i like watching tv in the evenings after work. but im relatively stingy. so should i save the 1600$ and reinvest it, or should i use the money to get fancy microfibre couches and make my pad more comfortable and more inviting for females? i have a year to pay it off interest free. im 24 years no wife no kids: Try looking at a place that might have a scratched/dented section... a lot of times you can find a BRAND NEW couch!!! Sometimes the only thing missing is a throw pillow and they can't sell it at retail price!! :)

Q: how do you reupholster a reclining sofa or chair (lazyboy)?: Cover over the existing fabric if possible otherwise you have to carefully deconstruct the present covering so as not to tear the fabric and use the salvaged pieces as patterns for the new fabric. Secure the fabric using staples, tacks, etc. Also look into buy a slip cover instead.

What would be 6 good color options for the wall, that would affect the hue, value, or saturation of the yellow-green?: I think you could warm it up by using an orange or red colour. When I say orange, I mean a copper or burnished orange (pumpkin spice or even terra cotta) - nothing like those bright orange garbage bags! A soft green (like a moss or lichen colour) would also look nice. Blues would make the room look cool and yellows - well it might be over kill. I would go to the renovation store (home depot, home hardware, Rona...) and pick colours that you like. You could even do just an accent wall with a dark red or orange, behind the couch, and then find a complimentary colour to paint the remaining walls. That is what I did - a deep merlot (red wine) colour with an off white that has a pinky undertone. I never thought I would use PINK on my walls but it compliments well and is very soothing and warm. Go figure! Anyway, go and experiment! Have fun with it! Bring deep luxurious colours into your home! It'll help tone down the sofa if that is your goal!
