- Q:My power keeps flickering out every once in a while so I lit a candle just in case, and I accidentally spilt wax onto the cushion. I can't get it out. I tried scraping it off, vaccuming it, and I tried the ice thing I read that got it out of other people's carpets and junk.The sofa is made of this soft velvety junk and the wax is like soaked into it or something. I can't even just turn the cushion over. Other people of Answers said use an iron, but there's no iron in our house. Does anyone have any other ideas?Please help! My mother will come home tomorrow afternoon and kill me! Thanks!
- Reheating the wax is the only way to get it out...get a brown paper bag and a curling iron or something that gets hot. Lay the paper bag (only one layer) on the sofa and rub the hot surface over the bag. Be careful not to move the bag side to side it will just spread pull it up when your done. Try asking a neighbor to borrow their iron. Good Luck!
- Q:My son, who's in fifth grade, had his friend over for a sleepover. The friend was sleeping on our five-hundred dollar couch, and during the night he had a wetting accident. The couch was completely ruined. Now his parents refuse to pay for the damage to the couch. They say it's the risk we run when there's a sleepover. What should I do? - You don't want to cause a lot of problems ruin the kids' friendship. I think announcing it to others is in poor taste. What if your son had an accident at someone else's house? He'd be embarrased enough, the parents don't need to make it any more humuliating for him. The boy should have been sleeping in a bed, or you should have layed something under him on the couch. I think the fairest thing would be for his parents to pay to have your couch shampooed. I do not think they should be responsible for replacing your couch. The child was under your supervision, not theirs, so it's your responsibility to replace the couch. Accidents do happen. He may not be a consistant bedwetter, maybe it only happens rarely, this was an unfortunate time. My son is 6 every once in awhile he pees the bed, so I don't find it necessary for him to wear big boy diapers to bed or tell people about it. I would be pissed if someone acted toward my son for something he couldn't control like you are. Put yourself in the kids shoes, quit being a booger about it think about if the situation was reversed.

- What do you mean you can't find the theme? It's about a kid whose dad sells things, and the way he gets those things is by stealing them. SO he sells a sofa, puts his kid inside the sofa, the people put it in their house, the kid gets out of the sofa, and takes valuable items with him on his way out the house. In this instance, the kid gets caught. It's a 1st person narrative told by the kid who is in the sofa ready to pop out and steal things from the buyer's house. Got it?
- Q:I have oil heat, with forced air.. We have, what we believe to be, is an air intake vent on the floor.. no heat comes out so we think it just pulls air in. Can I put a sofa over it? There is like an inch or two of clearance from the bottom of the sofa to the floor.
- Putting the sofa over the intake may hinder the intake a bit, but as long as it is not blocked completely, air is getting in, so I think you are fine.
- Q:My gf's cat won't stop pissing on the leather sofa. I finally threw it out and got a new one and sure enough, w/in 2 days, he pissed on it again. I soaked the thing w/ the Nature's Miracle orange solution and scrubbed but i can still smell it. I sprayed it w/ the deterrant so he hasn't done it since that first time on the new one but i'd really like to get this couch not smelling like cat piss. Any suggestions?

- Leather sofas come in all sizes and shapes. You might be more used to seeing those big over plumped behemoths but most comtemporary leathers are smaller and sleeker. You just need to expand your furniture shopping range to more contemporary stores and not the traditional stores.

- Steam cleaning will bring it back. You can either have it professionally done, rent a steam cleaner, or do it yourself if you own a steam cleaner. Cotton is fine with steam cleaning. Always check your cleaning tag on your sofa first.
