- Q:they have a president sale (like everyone else) but they have a nice sofa and loveseat grey stone color for $597 in their ad. It is called the Redmond Microfiber living room. they describe it as covered in suede soft Microfiber Plush, in a sophisticated stone color, the Redmond is luxurious, yet durable this is my first purchase of furniture and it sounds like a good deal. what do you think. does anyone have reviews/comments about rooms to go furniture or about the sofa and love seat itself??
- Save your money and invest in a good quality sofa that will last. You get what you pay for. I could guarantee you will not be comfortable and that it will only last one year, if that. I'm sorry. I hate for you to make your first purchase a poor one. Use a futon or something until you save up for a nice sofa. Shop around at Lazy boy, Broyhill, Thomasville, Ethan Allen or other reputable furniture maker's. You may have to save up a little longer but it will be worth it in the long run. You can skimp on other pieces for a look. This is just my opinion. It is a deal that will fall apart.
- Q:I've had dark blue upholstered sofas and black dogs for years with no problems. The dogs shed, but it doesn't show up on the sofas. However I recently rescued an English Mastiff and she's got light hair, which shows up really bad against the dark colors. - Absolutely not, you wont like it and it would ruin the furniture. My mom just moved into an apartment and money is an issue for us to, but we found a sofa for 300 bucks. And we shopped around for almost 2 months. You could rent to own. Or you could purchase slip covers. Save your money and have them recovered. Where there is a will, there is a way. Personally, I dont come from a family with money so my chosen career is well, risky, but even if I didnt make enough to afford new things, Id have to get another job or something. Money is only an issue when you arent willing to work for it. And yes, you saw it on trading spaces. Hildi was absolutely nuts.

- Try calling a professional upholstery cleaner. They might be able to get most of the odor out. Smoke odor never really comes completely out! Good luck!

I am wanting something that will last me awhile--at least until my kids move out and go to college. : ( Any ideas?
- High quality leather will wear the best and will not absorb smells as much as fabric. Look for a textured/aged leather rather than a polished, smooth style - which would quickly show scratches from animal nails.

- Your dog is showing his loyalty and love for you by always wanting to be by your side. My Yorkshire terrier now thinks that once I come home I have to cuddle with him on the sofa so he will jump up and whine until I come over to him and soon he will fall asleep and I end up sitting there for about an hour. This is actually a bad habit and can also mean that your dog doesn't accept your dominance and leadership and this problem is most seen in smaller breeds. I always say, smaller the dog, bigger the attitude. Anyway, saying it won't be enough, you have to be firm. Next time he does this, just get up and walk off, or maybe spraying him its lukewarm water from a spray bottle mighty help. Make it clear that this is unacceptable. Buying him plenty of dog toys and a cozy dog bed is helpful and play with him on the floor. Do not allow anybody to bring him up on the sofa. If nothing works, consult a trainer.
