- You need to use a good quality water based foam leather cleaner. DO NOT use anything containing oils, waxes or silicones. (Most 'conditioners' contain waxes or oils so should not be used) and furniture polish (Pledge etc)contains silicones which will destroy the finish on the leather.
- Q: I have a black leather sofa in my living room and a green sofa in my spare room, and I would like to use them in the same room, but change the colour of the leather, I know it can be done, but not sure if the black and dark green ( like a British racing) would change the the colour I want.. - It is perfectly possible to change the colour of your leather but you would need to use pigments rather than dyes to do this It us best left to a leather technician to do as DIY products available over the Internet rarely work and could cause the leather to look far worse and be very expensive to fix. - Q: Working with a client that wants to have a custom king size sofa built, I work for an interior design company and our re-upholstery guy cannot order this size from his manufacturer. I have looked almost everywhere on the internet for a king size sleeper sofa insert mechanism that is sold separate from a sofa. - The standard size of sofa beds is 'single', 'double', and 'queen size'. A few years ago, Castro Convertible's did produce a king size unit, but it turned out to be a flop. The couldn't sell. Not because of bad manufacturing, but because no one wanted king size. And that's the only company that I know of that tried that size. And of course, they manufactured all the parts to their products. No outside manufacturing. And I have a feeling that they must have some king size units laying around collecting plenty of dust. Why don't you contact them. I'm sure that you could buy a complete unit from that at a low low price. Probably cheaper than if you had a supply manufacturer build a king size mechanism from scratch. Just take out the mechanism from the Castro. And bingo, you're in business. Castro Furniture is on the internet. Good Luck.

When having children, etc.. sleeping on sofa, I bought a cheap curtain liner and lay on sofa under a sheet. Saved my furniture many times from sick, drunk adults to sleeping children and pets.

- It might, but most sleeper sofas have mattresses about 4 inches thick so the problem might be to get it all to fold up. You'd have to try it.

- Yes, you can buy DIY dyes for fabrics. Some are good and some are not. I have found it is trial and error. I have used the dye that you put in your washing machine with the fabric and then you put it through a cycle. It was hopeless. It may have just been the brand though. I would ask at a fabric shop which dye and which method they recommend.

- I've heard that Lemon Pledge (that furniture polish) is good for upholstery. Professional Car Cleaners use it on car seats.
