- If you mean cotton in a quilting cotton sense...then no, not really. You need upholstery fabric or a commercial upholstery fabric . Costs a little more, but it would take a lot to wear it out.

Pretty soon the cat will associate the sofa with a citrus smell will resist getting the urge to scratch. There are also citrus scented cat deterrant sprays at the pet store. Before you sell the old sofa though, consider buying cut yardage of the fabric have the areas that are torn reupholstered. Call your furniture store see if cut yardage is available. But, if the sofa was inexpensive in the first place, you might as well buy new.

- there are proffessional steam cleaning companies that offer to clean suede sofas at a reasonable price. you can try that route or look into suede conditioners and or stain removers at local furniture stores. there are special cleaners for just that material. there are stain repellents you can add as well to decrease the chance of further stains and ultimately prolongs your investment - best of luck

- Not the wrong one, but the sofa we got deliverd was too big to come through the front room doors.... So it had to go back to store and we orderd a new one, We had the money refunded in 3 days to my card. was so sad to see the big yellow van leave with my sofa still on it
