- Q:I was looking at the Holland America cruise ms Veendam and I wanted to know what a sofa looks like when it is converted into a bed. Does anyone have a picture? It's an ocean view cabin.
- My experience with HAL ships is not the same as Mary's. I have been on 7 of their ships but never the Veendam. In looking at the site photos for an ocean view cabin, you will note that the sofa has a solid top cushion rather than two cushions. This tells me that when made into a bed it is not like a regular sofa bed that flips out and extends. Rather, that top one-piece surface cushion will be inverted (turned over) to provide a single sleeping space which is quite comfortable. Beneath that single bed is a trundle which slides out to provide a sleeping space of the same dimension. This configuration saves space compared to a conventional sofa bed.
- Q:The sofa is an orangey-brown, just about two years old. The covers do not come off the cushions, so putting it in the wash machine is not an option. I tried a carpet cleaner, which seemed to work okay, but you can still see the faint outline of the stain. Is there anything else I can use?

Or you can use hand cleaner that is used for removing car grease. You can buy it at an auto parts, but it will leave a smell, I say Awesome is best, removes everything, no residue.

- You need to talk to your personnel office or legal office... hopefully when you got married you did all the required paperwork since she is a Filipino national and not a US Citizen, BTW, you do not get your sofa stamp until you reach where you are going. Also you may have Command Sponsorship, but do you have her family entry approval and has she completed her overseas screening? Her Visa/Passport will be addressed in that process. Why are you asking here if you have already spoke to the passport office on base? As she will be going to Korea on your orders they are the ONLY ones that can process the paperwork for the no-fee passport that allows her to travel on your orders to Korea.

- How about a futon? There a sofa then easily make into a bed and come in diff. sizes and styles. Generally they are less expensive than what you are talking about and they save a lot of space.

- Q:ok I have one of those imitation micro fiber sofas, and I have a problem.. My hubby insist that it is ok for our 300 lb. English Mastiff to get up on the couch... it drived me insane but I try to ignore it... however now, there are 2 tears in the fabric.. they are L shaped, (almost like a box knife caused it) and are only about an inch in length.. the fabric still meets together if you know what I mean (there isn't a hole, only a tear). My husband won't listen and insists that it is not from the dog, but I do know better.... Anyhow my question is how do I try and repair this without it being too noticable... I dont want to sew it cause you can see it... I don't have any idea... My sofa is a dk.beige with a gray tint... Help Please !! Thanks... And please no rudeness about the dog.. - Flex-able fabric glue may work, and booties on the dog paws or a nice throw blanket. You could always make some kind of cover for the couch, pillows.
