- Q:I understand there is a huge difference because one has a bed in it and one doesn't, but my question is which is more comfortable to sit on? I have the opportunity to order the same sofa just one has a sleeper with a $20 difference. My mom swears that the sleeper sofas are terrible to sit on. True?
- Some are and some arent. Some will have a bar that is underneath the base of the couch where the cushions lie. Once there is some wear to your furniture then it is possible for that to get a tad uncomfortable. If the cushions are nice and fluffy and the bar is not directly underneath then I would think the sofa bed would be your best bet for the price. I would call and ask the manufacturer about the rod for the bed and make your decision from there.
- Q:So last night, i moved the sofa to clean up under it like i regularly do. I was shocked, so much that I'm still speechless. The back was slashed from side to side, up and down. - Sit down with him and ask him why he didn't come get you... Explain to him that sofa was your own guinea pig that you value and it hurt for you to see him slash it up. If he owns up to knowing his actions were wrong then let it go- not many kids can do that and be proud that your child can take ownership to things. if he gets mad or defensive ya dont have to hit him... Put him in time out in a room by himself. This is how grown ups learned how to step aside when they need to cool down from being angry before they start making actions out of anger emotion which never ends up good. There will be some screaming coming from his room, this is normal- but when he calms down... Go in, give him a hug and kiss- and say ya still love him but then address that ya want him to take ownership on knowing what's right and wrong.. Once he owns up to it, let it go... thats the purpose of talking to him isnt it? If he gets defensively angry again- put him in time out. and repeat until he becomes to understand that ya want him to know what he did was wrong. No hitting needed.
- Q:I saw a reasonably priced open up sofa bed in leather at Jennifer sofa The bedframe is standard. I'd need to put extra padding under the mattress to be comfy. In another store I saw a sofa not leather for similar price where the sales person said the frame is made by a company in business for 80yrs still need extra padding under mattress. I read several reviews about Jennifer sofa leather sofa not good thumbs down.But I love the look of leather. The differance between these two sofa beds is apprx 300$. Don't tell me no brainer.Please offer knowleable advice How to know if you're buying a quality sofa bed for under 1000. How to pick out a good open up bed part. - We had a sofa bed at our cottage that was a very good brand. After sleeping on it for a couple of nights we we're really sorry. It was the worst I had evr slept on. Maybe you should consider a day bed. With that you could get a good mattress of your own .
- Q:My power keeps flickering out every once in a while so I lit a candle just in case, and I accidentally spilt wax onto the cushion. I can't get it out. I tried scraping it off, vaccuming it, and I tried the ice thing I read that got it out of other people's carpets and junk.The sofa is made of this soft velvety junk and the wax is like soaked into it or something. I can't even just turn the cushion over. Other people of Answers said use an iron, but there's no iron in our house. Does anyone have any other ideas?Please help! - Ok I think I can help you- I've gotten this out of a bunch of fabrics. No iron? do you have a hair dryer? Use brown paper grocery bags, and place them on the wax. Turn your hair dryer on LOW to start, just in case the heat could damage the sofa fabric. Let the heat of the dryer melt the wax, and keep soaking it up in the paper bag- I ususally tear up the bag into managable pieces. This may take a while, but I have gotten wax out of a neighbors rabbit fur pelt he had on his dresser. this does work. I would try to borrow a neighbors iron if you could, however, that would go faster. Keep checking the fabric underneath the paper- to make sure its not burning the sofa fabric. good luck- hope this helps!

- I second the first answer, IKEA is a great way to go, especially since a lot of their sofas are slipcovered so if you get sick of the orange sofa in two years instead of buying a brand new sofa you can go back to IKEA and buy a new slipcover in a different color.

- No, you can't dye a microfiber sofa, but you can make slipcovers for it, or reupholster it with a darker fabric. There are several problems with trying to dye upholstered furniture. One is that dyeing synthetic microfiber requires that you boil it with a special kind of dye. You can't exactly boil the fabric that's on your sofa! Another problem is that excess dye must be rinsed out thoroughly; people who try dyeing upholstered furniture then find that the dye rubs off on the clothing of anyone unwise enough to sit on it. It is possible to use fabric paint, instead of dye, but it's a lot of trouble, and the fabric paint costs as much as having the sofa recovered. Fabric paint wears off very quickly compared to dye, since it sits on the surface of the fabric, so it's not a very long-term solution.
