- Q:I have 26x9x12 tires i was wondering if the wheel i had on would fit a 29.5x12x12 tire
- you can call your local dealer or auto supplier and they can tell real quick and exactly where it is
- Q:Tire dealer reported 5/32 on front tires 7/32 on back tires what does that mean
- Bridgestone Firestone North America Tire, LLC (BFNT) has a practical suggestion for commemorating the presidency of Abraham Lincoln. While Lincoln is broadly associated with a multitude of accomplishments and characteristics, from his humble upbringing to the Gettysburg Address, perhaps a lesser-known claim to fame is Honest Abe's contribution to 21st century automotive maintenance. That's right, Abe Lincoln has made a significant contribution to car care. The Lincoln penny test has become a tried-and-true method of determining when it's time to get new tires. The procedure is as simple as placing a penny in the tread and using Abe Lincoln's likeness as your guide. Here's the three-step penny test: 1. Take a penny and pinch Abe's body between your thumb and forefinger. 2. Put Lincoln's head into one of the grooves on the tread. Select a point on your tire where tread appears the lowest. 3. If any part of Abe Lincoln's head is obscured by the tread, you're driving with the legal and safe amount of tread. If you can see above his head, where it says In God We Trust, take a hint: you're ready for a new tire. Why worry about tread depth? If your tread gets below 2/32 of an inch, your car's ability to grip the road in adverse conditions is greatly reduced. Furthermore, insufficient tread is not only dangerous; in many states it is illegal (legal tread depth is 2/32 of an inch - the exact distance from the tip of Abe's head to the rim of a penny).
- Q:Okay. I just got a G35 and I need winter tires or All- Seasons. First of all, do you think just snow tires are better than all season? Second, what brands/tires do you recommend? Third, do you think studded or unstudied will be best for me. My car is RWD in case you didn't know.

- Q:whats the tire pressure supposed to be on a 94 f150?icant read the small print on the tires.

- Q:Can anyone tell me the difference between skinwall tires and gumwall tires? Which are better and why?
- Gum wall are the brown side walled tires. I'm not sure what skin walled are.
- Q:How are those tires differ from each other?
- A radial tire has the belts wrapped from the rim to rim perpendicular to the tire. Bias ply run along the same direction as the tread. Radial tires last considerably longer, handle better and ride significantly smoother.
- Q:What are your thoughts about the tire. Pros and Cons please.
- This tire is amazing it made my car 99% more fuel efficient and drive through 1ft of water and 3ft of snow. And if you go fast enough (50mph+) your car will fly at twice the speed of sound.
- Q:how much air in a bicycle tire?
- mountain bike standard tires doesn't mean much. The specific tire width, along with the weight of the rider are used to determine needed air pressure. Bike tires have a pressure range embossed on the tire sidewall. If you are light, set your pressure to the low end of that range. If you are heavy, go to the high end of the pressure range. For example 26 x 2.30 tires for a light rider need far less pressure than 26 x 1.75 tires being used by a heavy rider. The tires themselves should provide you with the information you require
- Q:Noticed today that my rear tire has more wear on it than my front tire does is that normal? Also what‘s the proper psi for my bicycle? I have 20 psi n them now is that too much? My rear tire was flat and I fixed it with tire sealant.
- Ok, you really need to read up on some S197 forums on this but I'll break it down to you. First off, T/A is wrong. CAI systems do work especially under high rpm situations because your stock intake tube is a rubber piece. It collapses in situations of high vaccum. As for the S197 cars the issue is the Spanish Oak computers. Yes the K+N CAI does add power but the minute you put it on a dyno and check the F/A ratio, you will find that there are moments the car runs lean. not just lean but very lean. With these cars you need a CAI AND a tuner to get it properly tuned. This is why you see other brands toting a much higher figure (usually about +28 HP or so). And I'm betting some of those no name brands aren't really no name brands, but just brands you aren't familiar with (like JLT or GMS).
- Q:The tires are bottom line bf goodrich
- The tread pattern and the MATERIAL or stiffness of the tire is what can cause tire noise. Some are just noisier than others and in a Focus, with minimal sound insulation you're going to notice it. Usually, I have found that a cheaper no-name/knock-off tire (like a discount tire brand, or other cheap brand tire) are the LEAST noisy. They are made of softer material and, although they don't last as long, will be quieter, and, most importantly, less expensive to replace. Having been in the industry, 90% of the time when you buy a cheaper model of a name-brand tire you are getting a chinese/korean made tire that is really poorly made/designed and will howl like a mofo. If you don't have a sloppy wheel bearing, you are just a victim of cheap tires.
