Q:How do I change my tire in the rain?
Do not call 911, In some states a cop is required by law to stop and change a tire for a lady. outher then that invest in some run flat tires or you will have to call road side assistance
Q:My tire tread creates a lot of cabin noise.I was just wondering if anyone knew some tire treads that were quite due to design.(that aren‘t super expensive)
Sure, there are potentially several tire brands/models which will have less road noise. What is your vehicle and/or tire size? We might be able to suggest some quieter options. Do keep in mind, average to lower quality tires can become very noisy after even minimal wear. Tire road noise could come from several different factors depending on the tire performance category, tire quality, tread wear, and tread design.
Q:Can you elaborate on the material of the car tires, including the type of rubber used for different tires, what type of material is inside the thread, and what other materials are used.
Car tires are the main material of rubber, constitute the strength of the soft steel wire, in the past, due to technical reasons, the strength of the winding lines are used nylon line. In order to improve the carrying capacity, often the nylon line to do a lot of layers. Now do not, as long as the adjustment of the wire on it.
Q:whats the difference between wide and normal tires?what is a good tire size for a 99 mustang?
Wide tires handle better and have more traction but at the cost of fuel economy and your wallet. Change the tires for what the rims were made for. If they're the same rims from the factory you can get this information on the sticker inside the door. You might go a size wider if you fell you need this. This depends on how and where you drive.
Q:My cadillac has P235/60R18 in the front and P255/55R18 in the rear. This is the factory spec. When I bought it, all threads are the same (new tires) but the front tires run out of thread when there is still 50% left in the rear.Question is 1. Why?Question 2. Can I just replace the two front tires with new ones and leave the rear as it isQuestion 3. The tire store said since it is 2005 cadillac srx AWD, they recommend all new tires on all four wheels, otherwise it will hurt the transmission. Is that true? I am fine if the tire ware is same, but looks like I have been driving with unequal threads in the front and back for a while when the threads have been waring out faster in the front wheels and thus the rear tires are becoming to have better threads.
It's never a good idea to swap out only two tires on a car, regardless of the drive type (FWD, RWD, AWD). It will affect the handling characteristics of the car negatively, depending on the situation. Sounds like the SRX's AWD sytem is front biased (more torque is being sent to the front wheels, so the car has FWD-like characteristics during normal driving), so your front tires wore out faster than the rear. Your best bet would be to change all four tires. Hope that helps
Q:I have a mountain bike(brand new) but when I slam on the brakes the tire is always screeching. I did this once(I cant help it! I just like going too fast) but before I got to a halt, my tire just burst(Oh yeah, I bought the bike from canadian tire)
1. Loosen the nuts holding the wheel on. 2. Remove the chain tensining screw, 3. Remove tire/wheel assembly. 4. Remove the old tire by sticking a screwdriver between tire and rim to get bead on the outside of the rim. Work your way around the tire.Remove tire and tube from rim. 5. Go buy replacements. 6. Work one side of the tire onto the rim. 7. Insert tube inside tire, sticking valve stem through hole in rim. 8. Work other side of tire onto rim by hand, making sure not to pinch tube. 9. Inflate tire toappropriate pressure. 10. Reverse steps 1,2, 3
Q:how much air in a bicycle tire?
The tire usually has a PSI limit listed on it. It varies for different sizes and types.
Q:In my tech class I am building a sofa vehicle. I went to canadian tire today to buy tires for it, and I found some wheelbarrow tires tha said max weight 300 lbs, does that mean that each tire is 300 lbs, so if i had 4 tires would it be 1200 lbs? or does it not change no matter how many tires there are?
its three hundred pounds each for a total of 1200 lbs but remember on a moving item if you are at 1200 lbs and you pass over high spot that lifts a tire now your 1200 lbs is on 3 wheels which is 400 lbs each, cornering loads the outside wheels etc so be sure to leave yourself a decent margin, although I assume this is not meant to be a fast moving project?
Q:My 2008 Honda has a dash light that comes on when a tire has low air pressure. How can it do that? The tires aren‘t hooked up to anything.
The tire pressure sensor doesn't actually measure the tire pressure. It uses the wheel speed sensor (part of the ABS) to measure very minute differences in rotational speed between all four tires. When it senses a difference from what a nominally good tire is, it will turn on the tire pressure light. Note that you will need to check the tire pressure in all tires, as it doesn't indicate which tire is the problem. Once the tire pressure is adjusted, reset the light according to the owner's manual. You'll also need to do this after changing to a spare.
Q:which company manufactures the best tyres (tires) bridgestone, pirelli or is there anyone else ?
All of the major name brand tires are about the same. There is no brand that is superior to the others. If any brand of tire were really superior to all of the others, this would be the only brand of tire that anyone would buy. The other tire manufacturers would be forced to stop making tires that they could not sell. Any answer you will get with a question like this will be based more on brand loyalty than fact.
