- Q:how wold i go to cleaning a spilt ashtray on a carpet?my little brother pushed the ashtray off the desk and it went all ove the carpet now theres a big grey stain. i sweeped most of the ash up now its just stuck in the carpet.i tryed OXYGEN stain removal spray and that just made it greyer.also if i dont get it out right away will it cause mold?
- first moisture causes mold if not properly dried not ashes and second if you steam clean the area it will let up rather easily and wont stain the carpet even if left for a while.

- 1001 is the best for stains it actually cleans, get's rid of odour. It is perfect for any stains, I use it all the time (like the other day i had to get rid of my cat's pee stains) .< It is great and you can find it anywhere, it is a yellow bottle and it says big 1001! :) :D

- Depends on the type of carpet you have but there are two tricks that generally work. The 1st way is to set an ice cube(s) on the indent. Carefully work up the pile as the cube melts, A hair pick works well for doing this. The other trick ( if you have a heat set carpet fiber) is to CAREFULLY inject steam into the dent. Use an iron and do steam on the dent as you work at the fibers with a hair pick. You can also put a damp hand towel ( very warm water) on the dent along with a steam injected into the dent. Extreme care must be used doing it this way as not to melt the carpet fibers. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
