Q:what does ABEC 7 Speedster bearings mean for roller blades?

It basically means nothing. The use of ABEC ratings was an accident in inline skating. It is about bearings used in machinery that runs at extremely high speeds. Nothing about rolling better under the weight load or speeds for inline skating. Some of the bearings used for the early inline skates were so poor that any ABEC rating guaranteed that the bearings were reasonable. Then the manufacturer's got their advertising people into the act by bragging about a number that isn't important or expensive.

Q:Are they connected with the main bearings? Are the trust bearings only on the outer portions of the crankshaft?

It all really depends on the application. But usually there is only one set of thrust bearings, and they are usually formed as part of the center main bearings. Sometimes they may be on the outer two mains, but they are almost always part of the main bearings.

ABSOLUTELY! I've been ridin' The Wave for a couple of years now, and I def switched over to better bearings once I was ready. You def want to make sure that you have mastered ridin' the board before you make the switch. I'm pretty sure that Street Surfing is going to start making upgrades available, but until then, go for it. Just be ready for the faster speed. If you haven't checked out their website I'd give it a look, some cool vids/pics there, even some 'how to' vids if you're looking for some tricks to do ( THEWAVE.COM ). Q:how long do skatebaord bearings last?

Depends on what kinda they are. I've seen cheap $10 Abec 3s and 5s works just as fine as some Bones bearings. As long as you take care of them, they will stay in good condition. But since a decent set of bearings don't cost all that much, just use them until you feel like changing them. I've skated for 5 years and I had a set of bearings that lasted me through out the year. Bones REDS? I'm pretty sure you're familiar with the name. But they are really durable. They ain't fast, but they are durable.

Q:I want pro bearings that would be kinda cheap and i found these

Kyle Take off the wheel Look at the bearing, there should be a 4 digit number like 6008 That's your bearing size If there's no number you have to measure the outside and inside diameter with a vernier caliper and plug the size into google to get which bearings you need. But probably standard skateboard bearings most likely.

Bones Swiss bearings came out in 88. There were other Swiss bearings on the market, though. Reds are much newer, coming to market in the early 2000s

Q:I need some iron ball bearings that are about 3-4inches in diameter and I need them to be iron so that I can get some rust build up on them. I tried calling a couple of hardware stores but they usually only carry steel ball bearings and small ones at that. Any idea what kind of store would have LARGE iron ones? Thank you.

well okorder and pretty much the more you are willing to spend the better they will be. buy some speed lube and youtube how to clean bearings.. they will be smooth as ever.

Q:What does ABEC for skateboard bearings mean?

ABEC stands for Annular Bearing Engineering Council and it is a rating of how good bearings are. Basically the higher the number after ABEC-, the better the bearing is supposed to be. The scale goes ABEC-1, ABEC-3, ABEC-5, ABEC-7 and ABEC-9. Bones Bearings (Swiss, Ceramic) are Skate Rated and are basically better than most of the bearings rated on the ABEC scale.
