- Q: ok so im getting 2 skateboards and they both come with abec 3 bearings do u guys think it is worth it?well are abec threes better or worst?

- Q: i recently bought an Enjoi deck, some $LAVE wheels and i'm getting a pair of Independent trucks today but i don't know what are the best bearings for street since i dont like skate parks. (the city is my skate park). so if you could please give me a list of the bearings you personally think are the best for street that would awesome.I've never checked what bearings i use so that's why i don't know which are the best ones.
- Id say stear clear of skateboard brands that also make bearings, I only get 1 of two bearings, either bones reds, they range from $15-20, they are quick bearings right out of the box, they are relatively cheap and sturdy, bones swiss bearings will spin longer, so you wont have to spend as much time pushing, but they cost about $45-50. Dont waste you money on other bearing brands that use abec ratings, if you have the money for them id say the swiss are worth it, but if not reds are the way to go.
- Q: I drive a '98 Dodge Ram, and my bearings just went out for the second time. Should I get a new rotor or just new bearings? And if I need a new rotor, is there anything other than the rotor that I need to install?
- Its not likely that the rotors are at fault. Inspect and if there is no unusual wear they should be fine. Its odd that you are having to replace the bearings again, be sure to clean the rotor thoroughly to remove any metal particles that could cause bearing failure. Other than that use a quality grease and pack the bearings well. Be sure the new race is seated in the rotor. Check a repair manuel to be sure that you are tightening the spindle nut correctly and do not over tighten. Modern roller bearings rarely fail unless they are not properly lubricated. I have driven trucks and cars well over 20 years old that still have the original bearings.

- Bushings - use powdered graphite on contact areas, Never use petroleum or oil based lubricants on bushings. Bearings - Remove the shields and apply 2 drops of skateboard bearing lube and replace shields. If bearings are dirty, clean them first. The axle nuts should be loose enough to give a little play in the wheels. About 1/4 turn looser than hand tight. If the nuts get looser as you ride, the nylon retaining collar is broken and the nuts need to be replaced. A local skate shop should have these for about $1-2 for the set of 4

- If the bearings aren't sealed, blast the insides where all the little ball bearings are with a degreaser spray, or WD-40 if you have no degreaser. Repack the bearings with some white lithium grease. You can get that in a small tube for a couple bucks--plenty to do all your bearings with.

- Q: Im just wondering how important it is to clean and regrease a cars wheel bearing. Working as a bicycle mechanic, this is something I do on a daily basis to every other bike we work on. And so Ive always wondered why I dont hear about wheel bearing going out on cars, or why I dont hear about having them serviced...Im assuming they are sealed bearings, but still it seems like they should need serviced every so often. I drive an early 90s ford truck, nothing fancy. Is this something I should consider doing, or should I not worry about it unless they start making noise?Thanks!
- Bikes and cars are 2 different animals, wheel bearings usually last for a long time, I wouldnt worry about them,
- Q: I am a street skater. And tell me what bearings are good other than swiss.
- My favorite trucks are krux. I've been skating for 3 years and I have had my krux for about 6 months and I've grinded the **** out of them and they work great. Don't buy cores I broke a pair in a day. Krux have a version of trucks with a kingpin that you tighten with an allen key so as to prevent it from catching on ledges. The best bearings I've had were bones swiss ceramics but they're expensive. for the price, go with bones redz.

- no a spindle does no such thing. spindles are only on rwd cars and trucks. if you have a fwd vehicle you have an axle shaft that goes into a hub assembly

- Well, what's the problem? Do you need to know how to do it? How much it cost? What are wheel bearings? You have tapered bearings. When they go bad you change the inner and outer bearing plus wheel grease seals then get them repacked. Sometimes you can just have them tightened and that fixes it
