Q:than cleaning it at home with my own carpet cleaning machine? For example I have a stain on my carpet in my living room. When I clean it, it looks clean....but a few weeks later it pops up again....if I hire professionals will it come up?

We send them off to be cleaned by a professional. Things like travel boots, bandages, fleece rugs and tail guards go in our washing machine at home. We put the buckles into a girth buckle bag (usually get them when you bug a girth) so that the machine isn't damaged and so they don't make loads of noise.

They should warranty it if the carpet itself has a stain blocker warranty. Not all carpets do. Check your paper work for the type you have. Any good company will have given you paper work on the stain properties. Damage to the walls will fall on the installers shoulders. Take pictures and start complaining ASAP. Empire should contact the installers and make them pay for it. And your salesperson will handle the warranty work as far as filing a claim. Don t give in if it brand new and has a warranty. I own a carpet shampooer and use it frequently but a week later the stains resurface and it all looks yucky again. Do you have a good stain pre-treater for me? Or any other suggestions?

I own a carpet shampooer and I try to get to my little messes right away, but twice a year I rent a good heavy duty rug doctor and I clean all of my carpets with that as well. It works great.

Go to the pet store and get Natures Mericle (sorry for bad spelling) it will take anything out of anything. Also the enzymes in milk might take it out. Put milk on a rag and blot or rub the area see if that helps ;)

If you have pets that often mess on carpets, you may want to not reinstall carpets. Instead, once you can afford it, consider installing a hard surface that's easier to clean, such as tile or etc. When you do clean, use an enzyme cleaner, to eliminate the Oh, this is my piddle place smell that will cause them to reuse that spot. For now, to help the carpets stink less, put baking soda all over the carpet, and let it sit for a half hour or longer. Then vacuum it up. This will not remove the deep-set pet odors that are in the carpet pad, but it will help remove the odor in the carpet itself, which can only help. Baking soda can work wonders with odors. But if the odors are in the carpet pad, as I suspect they are, any product is only going to help so much. I know others say you can get a steam cleaner and clean the carpets, but in my experience, all this does is release the hounds. It activates any old, dormant pet odors in the carpet pad, and makes the situation worse. So I'm not so sure of this one. Maybe a professional carpet cleaning company... but I make no promises on that.

Q:I am trying to find a practical solution to carpeting my basement with pets and kids in the house. I was looking at carpet tile because I can just replace a worn or stained piece. Has anyone here used carpet tile? What brand did you buy and how did it hold up? Can this be easily installed or do I need a pro? Any tips?

i use it also. i got mine from sears , it is the self stick. works great. i would buy xtra amt.
