Q: On the large harness that goes to the radio, I can't figure out what 5 of the wires are for. on the harness they are b3 (light tan/white), b4 (gray), b5 (black), a6 (pink), and a7 (blue).: To play an auxiliary source you'd need to fool the deck into thinking it's a separate factory accessory, like an XM radio tuner or CD changer. That's the purpose of the adapter. If you already have a stock XM tuner or CD changer, and you don't want to use it, you might be able to cut the audio signal wires and connect them to an audio cable running to your MP3 player. Then you can set the head unit for the XM tuner but you'll get the audio from your player. But if there's no factory external source equipped in the vehicle, then this isn't an option for you.

Q: I'm replacing the ground wire in a chandelier because it has been cut by the previous owner when it was removed from the ceiling. Overall it is pretty simple and I have everything diagramed. When I went to Radio Shack and bought the replacement wire they gave me 18 gauge solid insulated hookup wire. It looks totally different. The ground wire is a braided copper wire (7 strands). Should I go back and take my copper wire with me and get copper or is what I have just as good? An electrician will do the installation of the chandelier into the ceiling.: The reason they use copper as it does not corrode...

Q: Would crepe paper stick on chicken wire?: Crepe paper needs an adhesive to make it stick to a surface, such as white glue. However, it gets messy once dampened, as the colors may bleed. Instead, I would consider working with paper mache or plaster gauzing strips, which would provide a strong skin over the chicken wire. Both can be primed with gesso then decorated with acrylic paints. If this is a sculptural piece you want to keep, we would also suggest varnishing it for protection.

Q: the charger has three wires to put a male plug on and they are black white and green and they look like 12 gauge wires: wire colors are green is ground the black and white wires are you load wires look at you 240 volt plug and determine which terminal is the ground this one is where the green wire goes the black and white wire go to other two terminals this should do it

Q: the plug only has room for black,red,ground wire.. what do i do with the white wire: If you have a dryer with a 3 prong cord you can combine the ground and white. Has been done for many decades if you use an older dryer.

Q: You have been given two samples of wire: one nichrome, one aluminum. Describe a procedure you could use to determine which sample was nichrome and which was aluminum: first, knowing the resistance of each wire (i dont know it, you need to look it up) i would set up a circuit to put out [X] amt of current (the amt of the lowest resistance in the wires) and run the current thru the wires to a light bulb. if the bulb doesnt light, you now have figured out that this is the wire with the most resistance (again i dont know which has a higher one) for clarification- aluminum resistance = X nichrome resistance = y circuit with current EQUAL to resistance of the lowest wire (for example if X was lowest with 3 ohms, you would set the current to however many amps/volts are required to overcome that) and then connect it to a bulb. when its turned on, if the bulb doesnt light, you have determined that it isnt wire X but wire Y. even more simply, just list the wires by their resistance. if X=3 ohms, Y= 4 ohms, and the bulb doesnt light at 3, you have determined that its wire Y. im assuimng you would have the resistance of the wires? this is how i would do it, but if thats the right way? i dunno. but it is one way.

Q: im installing an amp and i have no clue what to do with thw power wire.... I read to cut open my steros power wire (usually the blue) and wrap my power wire around it... I found the blue wire but there was a tag... Caution Remote output only... This is not the wire for power supply. please connect this wire to the remote for the amplifier... Does this mean i just connect this wire directly to my amp?: ok wait hold up. so the only wire that should be hooked from the amp to the headunit is your speaker wires, remote turn on wire, and your rca cables. ....What you need to do is get the power cable(usually red) run it from positive on the battery to the POS on your amp. next put your ground wire from the GND on the amp to bare metal on your cars chasis.

Q: The wire on my headphones were cut clean off in the middle of the wire. Is there any way it can be fixed?
