Q:Hey can some1 help me, on my lamp i have a White, a Yellow wire with tints of green in it and a black wire. on my cord that i am going to plug in is a Blue, brown and a yellow wire
Run a continunity check on the cord from the brown and blue wires to the blades on the plug. The brown should go to the wider blade, but could be other way around. Then the yellow wires go together. The one (brown or blue) from the wider blade goes to the black one from the lamp. The other one goes to the white wire.
Q:A street lamp weighs 200 N. It is supported by two wires that form an angle of 130° with each other. The tensions in the wires are equal. What is the tension in each wire supporting the street lamp?If the angle between the wires supporting the street lamp is reduced to 100°, what is the tension in each wire?
Problem 1: If the tension in the two wires are equal, the angle they make with the horizontal must also be equal. Always remember that a horizontal line is a straight angle; hence, it has a measurement of 180°. Let's look for the angle the wires make with the horizontal. 130 + x + x = 180 130 + 2x = 180 2x = 180 - 130 2x = 50 (Divide both sides by 2) x = 25° Each wire makes a 25° angle with the horizontal. We can now find the tension. The mass must be divided by 2. Using trigonometry, let's find the tension force. The divided weight of the lamp shall be the opposite side, and the tension force shall be the hypotenuse. sin 25° = (200 / 2) / Ftens Ftens = 100 / sin 25° Ftens = 236.62 N (Answer) The tension is 236.62 N in each wire. Problem 2: We use the same approach. 100 + x + x = 180 100 + 2x = 180 2x = 180 - 100 2x = 80 (Divide both sides by 2) x = 40° Each wire makes a 40° angle with the horizontal. Calculate the tension force. sin 40° = (200 / 2) / Ftens Ftens = 100 / sin 40° Ftens = 155.57 N (Answer) The tension is 155.57 N in each wire. Hope this helps!
Q:the wires that are in most electric appliances
Active, Neutral,Earth hope this helps..cheers
Q:I have this sony x plod headunit that i want to install.unfortunetely i do not know the wiring on it. i could find out as i go along which wires go to which speakers... but which two wires are the POWER wires?so i attached pictures but the basic layout is on the left side there are 4 sets of two wires (im assuming they pair up vertically)on the right side there is a long black wire with a metal hook on the end.
Black wire with metal hook is the ground. Red connects to switched 12V. (...12V when ignition in RUN or ACC position) Yellow connects to constant 12V. edit: I think the blue wire is for a power antenna.
Q:hi i was wondering if its possible to electrify chicken wire? i have chickens in some fields and they keep wondering and chicken wire is alot cheaper than buying proper electric fencing??
It would be difficult to do. First you would have to insulate the fence wire from the ground. That means it could not be touching the posts. Next you would need a fence charger, a power supply if it is not battery operated, and a ground rod. It is not as simple as hooking a wire to the fence.
Q:What does the quot;Hstand for in quot;AWG 34Hwire?Also, would Heavy Poly Nylon magnetic wire be considered enameled?
Magnet wire is often called varnished or enameled, but it is actually insulated with a thin coating of insulating material designed specifically for the purpose. I assume that heavy poly nylon material is one of those materials. The H is probably the temperature class of the insulation. Class H insulation is rated to operate at up to 180 degrees C. Edit 1 The H could also stand for heavy as in the heavy build or double build terminology used to describe thicker than standard insulation. It is part of a specific manufacturer's catalog number rather than a part of the American Wire Gauge (AWG) designation. Manufacturer's sell many different varieties of magnet wire. The manufacturer's literature and NEMA or IEC standards provide details regarding the insulation materials used and the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the wire.
Q:ok got the mute wire figured out thanks to yahoo answers people..now i was wondering what the [ ILL] WIRE IS FOR ,ILLUMINATOR FOR SOMETHING?..also which wires on the speaker wires are pos and neg one is solid ,one is solid with stripe..not sure which is pos or neg thanks alot steve
first answer is correct, However, as long as you keep the solids and stripes consistent, it doesn't really matter if you hook them up negative stripe or positive stripe...just keep them all the same..
Q:does it matter what gauge speaker wire to use when hooking up a powered subwoofer?
A Powered subwoofer does not use speaker wire - it usually uses a RCA cable. EDIT: Ok - some older subwoofers only have speaker inputs and speaker outputs. You run speaker wire from the Left/Right speaker outputs to the sub, it strips off the sounds it wants to produce, and it passes the other sounds onto the other speakers. I suggest some good oxygen free 12 ga wire. There is a roll off effect with higher frequency sounds and long runs of speaker wire. It usually does not matter for a Home Theater system, but you can hear it with a high-end music system. Thicker wire reduces the effect. Since with a sub you would be running wires to the sub, then back to the L/R speakers, you could be using 15-30 ft of wire. Get a spool of good 12 ga from a speaker building site or get some of the Carol 12 speaker wire from Home Depot.
Q:the 2 wires that is connected from the key hole is cut .. how to fix or replace?
If there enough wire left on each side of the cut, say 1, then you could bear about 1/4 of the wire on each side and solder the wires back together making sure you are soldering the same wires together and wrap each soldered connection in electrical tape so they are not able to touch each other. Then a final wrap of tape around them both. If you are not up to soldering you could go to an auto parts shop and get a crimp connector to do the job, again bearing of wire is needed to get a contact through the cut area. If the cut is closer to the switch then there is no option but to replace the switch.....
