- Q: I got a water pump replaced a few month back, ( i own a 95 Honda civic) i have a wierd muffled rattle coming from that part of my car, i was told by a mechanic that it sounds like a bearing is dried out, he says that it wont affect the water pump itself but the ratlle will remain ... is this true . . .
- i havn't heard of that, but i hear new things every day, sounds to me like it could be timing belt or gears, or a bad W/P it happens if he says its making noise tell him you would like it replaced under warrnty, cuz any were you get them they have at least a 1 year on them, cuz if you pay for a part weither it works fine or not, should not make noise it is not supose to.......i work for NAPA auto parts.....and ask were they got the pump, if he sayz auto zone you best tell them to get the sec on some were else
- Q: it just go? I was told that my water pump had leaked at least for awhile before it went and if it had been in the garage someone competent should have noticed it. Then other people have told me No it just goes.whats accurate?
- Water pumps go when the seal around the bearing wears out. The leak starts out slow, but once it starts, there is nothing that can be done for it other than to replace it. The leak does start out slow, and get faster, but it can go from slow to fast in just a few days. Like you notice your car over-heats and needs water, and then a couple days later it needs more, and then you gotta fill it every day, and then like every hour, and then like every five minutes. Once it starts to leak, the water will leak a little slower if the engine is running and the radiator cap is loose, so that it cannot build pressure. But that trick is only good for getting you home, and then to the shop the next day. However, with the radiator cap loose, the water will leak faster if the engine is off. My wife's last car was ruined by severely over-heating, so it is not something you want to mess with. If your car severely over-heats, you will AT LEAST blow the head-gasket. So get it fixed as soon as possible, and in the meantime, carry jugs of water with you.
- Q: Hi, I'm looking for an affordable pump that can be used to circulate heated water (60 C) through a 12pipe with a diameter about the size of a pencil. Is there a pump out there to match this application? I've come across some small fountain pumps, but they need to be submerged in the 60 C water bath and I'm not sure about the temperature tolerances of it. The model I'm currently looking at is a quot;TotalPond130gph fountain pump model. Thanks
- You could try that pump but I don't think you get enough pressure. They can pump quite a bit of volume but don't have any pressure. It might be able to pump 130gph but check and see at what head. The head is what it can pump vertically. Could be 130gph at 3ft head but give it a go, might work just the way you want it to. An inline pump probably better to set up than a submerged one.
- Q: I just put a new water pump in my jeep and after I put it in I ran it and it seemed to have a small leak while it was running it seems like it was coming from the crank which is under the water pump so it might be a leak coming from the bottom of the pump. When I turn the car off it is no longer a leak its more like pouring water out. What do you think it can be? I put a gasket and the blue silicone gasket sealant all around it and on it before I put it in so I have no idea. Thank you for the help.
- The blue silicone has caused a hole in the water pump. Get it fixed now or the blue silicone will leak onto your engine causing more damage.
- Q: I am replacing the water pump and want to know exactly where the two o-rings go
- There are several rubber seals on a water pump. The biggest irregular shaped seal is obviously for the main portion of the pump (this can not be misinterpreted for something else). The next in size is the o-ring for the thermostat. And 2 additional O-rings (one smaller than the other) are for the return pipes. While removing/pulling out the pump, take care that the pipes do not get pulled outward by the pump. And when putting in the pump just gingerly align the pipes to the holes in the pump and you are good to go.
- Q: Submersible pump and self-priming pump which is easy to use?
- If the injection pump, submersible pump is self-priming pump well.
- Q: the question i have is can the pump be turning and not leaking but not pump water??? i know the olden days (the good ole days) as long as the impeller was turning it would pump water! leaking seal is when it went bad,or locked up..like a box fan blade as long as it is turning its moving air...
- if you have allergies.. you're gunna have some respiratory problems if you do not get the car interior douched by a professional
- Q: I want to know the disadvantages of a wind powered water pump and if you have any questions you would ask to someone presenting to you about a wind powered water pump(They should be really hard and smart questions) please include them in your answer. Thanks in advance.
- Disadvantage: No wind = no water Questions: 1. What is the minimum wind strength that would cause the pump to operate? 2. What is the maximum wind strength before the water pump needs to be disconnected for safety reasons? 3. What is the frequency of maintenance for the wind turbine and the water pump? 4. What is the conversion ratio from wind velocity to water flow rate?
- Q: Had house power washed today and need my water to work again!
- What else got wet? Will it dry? If it doesn't, then shut the power at the panel and change the circuit breaker. Do not bypass the circuit breaker.
- Q: just pulled my well pipe up and installed a new foot valve will i have to fill the pipes back up with water before i can get it to pump
- How To Prime A Pump: (Need: Gallon jug of drinking water, a roll of teflon tape, and an adjustable wrench or a pipe wrench.) A. Unplug pump (or cut OFF breaker box at pump, if one). B. Unscrew (counter-clockwise) the largest (3/4) plug on top of pump head. C. Wrap 2-3 flat turns (clockwise only) of teflon tape on threads of plug. D. Pour water into plug hole until full, and quickly start threads of plug by hand. E. Plug in or turn on pump, and finger-tighten plug (air and water will bubble out around threads as you do so) until pump picks up prime. Then wrench-tighten plug when it does. Repeat all steps, if necessary, until you have full water pressure and pump cuts off on its own. Good Luck!
