Q: so im lost in how i should wire my subs. I have two subs that i need to wire both are 2 ohms 400 watts i don't know if i should wire them parallel or series if you can help me out that would be great!: usually all sub wiring is the same, youll have the rca cables and antenna wire comming from the radio to the amp, power and ground wire going from amp to battery and ground, and than should have 2 wires coming off each sub to the amp, im guessing thatd be parallel, if you wire in series, so like use 2 wires and splice off to each sub, so 2 wires off the amp powering each sub you would up the ohms and put a too much of a load on the amp, people only wire in series when they have too many subs and not enough outlets on the amp, good luck

Q: I have a grounding wire for my HIDs which I need to increase the length for. How do I do this?: Get a roll of cable from a shop like halfords and connect together with connector block. Of just connect the original wire to a metal part of the car close to the light. Just have to scratch a bit paint off for a good connection

Q: Can I use 12-2 gauge wire on a 10 amp breaker to wire my light switches,and can I use 10 gauge wire on a 10 amp breaker? For a light fixture: Normally lighting circuits have a 15 amp breaker for protection and wired with 14 gauge wire. 14 gauge wire is good for 15 amps. 12 gauge wire is good for 20 amps. 10 gauge wire is good for 30 amps. So you can use 12 gauge wire, if you alrady have it available, but if you are going to go out and buy it, you can save some money by buing #14 wire. You can always go oversize with the WIRE just never undersized with the wire. Circuit breakerprotection is prescribed by the NEC. 15 amps for lighting and 20 amps for wall outlet power. I don't know where you even found a 10 amp breaker. ---------------------------------------... WOW! XTX has no clue what the National Electrical Code even says about this! Disregard his answer! It will get you into trouble!

Q: I'm looking to install a ceiling fan in a fixture that recently had just a light (no idea if it ever had a fan). When I removed the old light, I found that there were three white wires from the ceiling twisted together and connected to the white wire on the light fixture, one black wire from the ceiling connected to the black wire on the fixture, and three black and one white ceiling wires just capped together, not connected to the light fixture.Any idea what the last 4 wires are? I would think that I just need to leave them alone, however, I have to replace the box in the ceiling with one that is rated for a fan, which means I need to (temporarily) disconnect them. I have the breaker turned off that turned the light off, but can I be 100% sure that power to those other 4 wires if also off?: You don't have to know what they are, but other anwers are good esp with regard to safety. You can choose either to leave them alone or disconnect them and reconnect them inside your new ceiling box. If you want to disconnect them, be sure to mark all the cables first so you can't make a mistake when you reconnect them.

Earth ground (Usually connected to a copper water pipe or a metal pole driven deep into the ground) Neutral (0V) +120 V (Most household circuits) +220 V (Dryers, stoves, possibly air conditioners and other devices needing lots of power. These have special plugs.) Unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure you know what you are doing (and it sounds from your question like you may not be) DO NOT mess around with mains wiring in your house and especially wiring coming into your house, since that isn't even on a surge protector to keep you even remotely safe. If you mess around with this stuff without knowing what you are doing, you could wind up DEAD or in the hospital VERY easily. I can't stress enough how dangerous electricity in large quantities is.

Q: do i need a wiring harness or can i use wire crimps and do it w.o on a 2000 blazer 4wd if u think i need it plz tell me thanks: You should always use a wiring harness to install a stereo in a vehicle. Cutting the wires and attempting to hand wire is almost always a bad idea. The wiring harness is pretty cheap ($10-$20) and simplifies the whole procedure. Most of the time, the wiring harness and the head unit have similar colored wiring to aid in quick connections. Also, and more importantly, you can reverse the installation. The plugs will still be there and no cutting and rewiring at all. Remember, the head unit costs $150-$250 bucks, why would you cut corners on the installation kit?
