- Q:What hard wood flooring is better solid or engineered. The flooring is going to be placed in a bed room and family room
- This Site Might Help You. RE: What hard wood flooring is better solid or engineered? What hard wood flooring is better solid or engineered. The flooring is going to be placed in a bed room and family room
- Q:my flooring is hollow underneath in some areas, how can I have this taken care of?
- Well the dangerous thing about engineered hardwood floor is that the conclude layer is particularly skinny veneer, if it is veneer. So of these floor merchandise have a vinyl surface of varieties similar to contact paper and just as skinny. That you would be able to aesthetically restore the skin making use of a wipe stain system you can not real restore the scratch but that you may make it mixture in and with a few coats of water founded polyurethane applied with a q tip and then right away wiped so that you just do not need a build up that you would be able to seal the repair. Watch out while you do that so as to no longer soak the subject this will reason it to swell and elevate the skin.
- Q:My kitchen has an engineered wood floor that needs to be replaced. It was is glued to my concrete subfloor. There is no underlayment -- it's just glued to the subfloor. From repairing the floor I know that when you remove the planks, chunks (not huge, but still very noticeable) of the subfloor come up with the planks due to the glue, leaving the floor unlevel and with varying texture. I don't want to go through the hassle and mess of having someone remove the wood floor, and then sand down and/or use a self-leveling material on the subfloor before putting a new floor down. I'm thinking that the existing floor is already a smooth surface. Can I just put a new floor over it? To avoid removing the existing floor I'm happy to put down any type of new floor that will work (linoleum, laminate, wood, tile). Please help! Thanks
- Yes, you can put new flooring over an engineered wood flooring but it depends on the floor the you install, I think tile and another wood floor is not a good idea, I go with laminate and linoleum flooring.
- Q:What are the benefits of solid wood flooring decoration
- There are oak, ash, birch, several species of wood floor on the market at present. The physical properties of wood are better than ash, as the market's first material.
- Q:What should I look for in a quality engineered wood floor? Where is the best place to buy flooring if I'm installing it myself?
- Things to look for are the thickness of the wear layer, as well as the warranty. Engineered floors can be installed floating, or they can be glued, stapled, or nailed down. If they have the click-lock joint, they must be installed as a floating floor. If the joints are simple tongue and groove, and you install them as a floating floor, the joints must be glued. There are a lot of different places to get flooring. You can go to a home center, such as Lowe's or HD, or you can go to a flooring store. Do some shopping around, and pick up samples when you can so you can compare the floors. Hope this helps.
- Q:I have it installed in my condo and it scratches SOOO much! I mean even the smallest things makes the scratches. Is there a reason?
- It really depends on the brand you bought. A lot of companies produce engineered wood flooring in different styles and grades of quality. You may have ended up buying a lower quality without even knowing it. I would recommend checking with whoever installed it to find out what exactly was put in, and if it was supposed to be good quality, I would go back to the manufacturer and ask for replacements. Granted, there are a lot of factors that would scratch things...like dogs, roudy children, etc. So it could be any number of things causing the scratches. Or the product could just be defective.
- Q:I would like to put hardwood floor in our living and dining room but have no idea which one will be the best. I'm going for light maple, should i get solid or engineered wood? And should it be unfinished or prefinished? We have no kids but only a small little chihuahua.
- Solid okorder /hard_wood_flooring.html best of Luck to you and congratulations on doing your homework!
- Q:In flooring, which is better: solid hardwood or engineered hardwood?
- I've had both, just had a solid hardwood installed, way nicer!!! No doubt, it is more expensive, but not much. It was a quick and fairly clean install, installers have great tools, so even the sanding was quick and as clean as possible. Solid all the way!!
- Q:How to maintain composite wood floor
- 2, daily use should pay attention to avoid the sharp metal, glass tiles, spikes and hard thing is scratch the floor; do not make contact with the fire floor or placed directly on the floor of electrical power; the prohibition of placing strong acid and alkaline substances on the floor; the absolute prohibition of long time flooding.
- Q:I'm looking at a hand-scraped birch engineered floor for my new house. My current house has solid Daru-Daru, an Indonesian hardwood near maple on the hardness scale. I've been very happy with my current floor. Will the engineered floor be comparable in durability?
- If you are talking about a laminate floor it will not last as long as a hardwood floor.
