Q:I will soon have folded my 1000th paper crane. What should I do with them after I am done?: first of all, you have to make a wish! (after all that hard work!) then... make mobiles or garlands, and pictures out of the cranes (pasting them onto another paper in the shape of something else) give them to friends, (i know my friends love getting cranes, they think they're cool) put them in scrapbooks, use them in cards, use them as bookmarks or decoration for a party, (a i'm done folding 1000 cranes party) so many possibilities!

Q:I recently read that adult crane flies consume nectar or do not eat at all, their only purpose is to mate. After a crane fly mates, is starvation the cause of its death, or is there something else that ends its life such as age?: Most adult crane flies do not have functioning mouth parts so they are unlikely to feed even on nectar. Once they have mated they quickly become the prey of birds, spiders, etc, and their corpses are also cleared up by ants and so on. Certainly they don't survive for long.

Q:I am looking for guidance on determining the optimal design parameters for the design of an overhead travelling crane when considering a span of 60m and a lift requirement of 2500Tonnes. If not possible what would be the maximum lift for the same span: is the 60 is the traveling distance or the span? if it is the span then this no way can be achieved or found, also 2500 tons is not logic for a single lift, you need to verify the design requirements. Usually crane span is related to structural frame spans, the lift has to be a practical one, which ranges from 1 ton to a 250 tons which is again very rare, majority traveling cranes are from 1 ton to 25 tons

Q:I have seen a crane sitting in a tree watching over the pond in my front yard. I have never seen any fish in the pond and so i am curious as to why the crane is there. I thought cranes only hangout by ponds if there are fish. Does anyone have an research hypotheses to why the crane is there?thanks in advance: They also eat bugs and little critters. It could have been looking just outside of the pond, also it could have not known there weren't any fish and thought to give it a try anyhow.

Q:Is there anything similar to the traditon where you fold 1000 origami cranes and you get a wish?: The 1000 paper cranes thing really only became popular after the 2nd world war- a girl in Japan was told she woudl have a wish granted if she did it in a lifetime. She had been a victim of hiroshima (or nagasaki, i forget), so she gave it a shot but ended up dying young from the illness before she reached her quota. The point is, if it does exist in other cultures, it'll likely only be a surface similarity, I'd imagine. I remember reading in a children's book once that every leaf you catch from a tree in the fall before it touches the ground counts as a day's good luck... but i dont know if that's an actual superstition or one made up for the story. I can't remember the name of it either...

Q:It got me thinking.: I have not seen the movie, but I think I saw what you're talking about on a preview.
