Q:How the cranes can stand without any tipping with huge counter weights on its back? If there is no suspended load also the crane is is still stable with huge counter weights on its back. How it can possible? Why crane is not offballencing while we adding extra counter weights on it without any suspended load?: Usually the counterweights can move back and forth on an arm. They are moved toward the crane when there is no load and away from the crane when there is a load. If the counterweights can't move, then the crane must be designed to hold (at least) the minimum counterweights in their fixed location. As the crane gets loaded, the net moment decreases, and then increases in the other direction as more and more load gets added. It is still likely that the maximum design moment when loaded far exceeds the moment due to the counterweights on an unloaded crane.

Q:Trying to find an estimated weight for a mobiles crane with a 5 tonne capacity ?: If the crane HAS a 5-ton capacity, then to be able to estimate the weight you would need to know the length of its lifting arm at maximum extension w.r.t the C.G. of the body of the crane. So suppose we have an arm length of (say) 6 mtrs, then the max turning moment at the fulcrum (from front wheels of crane ? ) due to the Load alone = 5 x 6 = 30 You need to add the moment for the arm itself. Lets say the arm is around 1/2 ton. And its c.g. is approx 1/3 the distance from the fulcrum. Then this adds another = 1/2 * 1/3 *6 = 1 So total moment is 30 + 1 = 31 The body of the crane must be MORE than this. Suppose the C.G. of the crane is 2 meters behind the same fulcrum. Then weight of the body must be 31/ 2 = 15.5 tons. Lets say the weight is 16 tons. Then the TOTAL mobile cranes weight would be 16 (body) + 1/2 (arm) ~ 16.5 tons It all depends on the dimensions of the crane, and where the c.g. is located. If the crane has ballast added right at the back, then it's overall weight can be made less since it's c.g. would get shifted further away from the fulcrum

Q:It affects my day to day life, especially in the summer, having to cope with crane flies, wasps and moths getting into my house, so I usually just pretty much keep myself in my room, door closed, windows closed to prevent any from getting into my room. If I happen to be near any of these insects I tend to have a panic attack and can't handle it. I have no reason for my fear, I am just afraid of them for no reason. Can anyone help me to overcome my fears?: There is a reason you fear these, you allow it. Moths and crane flies are totally harmlees, and really nothing more than a nuisance. Over time you develop a fear of them touching you, and eventually even being near them. Because you dwell on this instead of completely ignoring them, you literally brainwash yourself into fearing them. You need to change the way you think about these critters, preferably, not thinking about them at all. At times when they are a nuisance, just deal with them. I had a moth last night fluttering around my lamp, and it finally landed on the curtain. I grabbed it and tossed it out the door. no more moth. I like to sit on my porch at sunset, sometimes I'll watch a little barn spider come out from behind the lamp and spin her web. Often a pesty crane fly will want to buzz in my face,and I just shoo it away. If it gets persistent, I grab them and toss them into the spider web.No more crane fly. (I get those pretty little green lacewing flies too) It is really a matter of learning how to just ignore them, and deal with them when they are a pest. Sounds like you pretty much ignore spiders, try the same with the moths and crane flies.
