Q:My ex landlord is charging me pro-rated costs to replace the entire carpet. While I don't think the carpet needs to be replaced, they said they couldn't get all the carpet installed before the new tenant moved in that they will replace the carpet upon the exit of the new tenant, whenever that may be. Can the legally do that? They've sent me receipts for the carpet cleaning have deducted the pro-rated amount to replace all the carpet. FYI I moved out the end of June, they sent me estimates the end of July now in January they've just sent me the invoices, I asked, for the work they completed, the new tenant moved in-in August.
I would be fighting this issue, especially since they charged you for carpet cleaning.

Q:last night i left the top of the cage open for my hamster. he climbed out and chewed loads of holes in the carpet. is there a cheap way to patch or replace the carpet
Wow that sounds just like what my puppy did,but of course they were way bigger.I really hate to contradict everyone else who answered but they were only half right. Cutting patches from inconspicuous areas is the right thing to do but using glue isn't. If it were they would install carpeting in houses using glue. You wont see that happening ever unless it was outside carpeting for a patio.Reason is it wouldn't be on there very long with traffic due to people walking on it, and use from the vacuum cleaner. The glue would not hold. That is why they sew carpet when they have to use two separate pieces to finish a room. Or to patch it. If you will be happy with the temporary fix and don't mind doing it over in about two weeks then go for it. If not you will need to sew your little patches. I sewed mine as I could not afford new carpet but couldn't stand to see it with holes in it. Either way, I hope it works out for you.
Q:I have a light beige and ivory rug with blue and green details. It doesn't match my decor, which is neon pink, bright green, and gold. How can I get rid or dye out the blue parts of the rug? What about bleach?
You want to do this at a laundromat, biggest machine possible. in cold water, bleach the rug. It may take two tries---using the largest possible machine, try a cup of detergent and a cup of bleach, and see what happens. If you get the desired shade, or lighten it enough, then you can immediately dye it (To a darker shade, of course.) Otherwise, double or triple the bleach, no detergent, and run it again. You may put additional bleach in the compartment where the fabric softener goes, and it will bleach it again on the rinse cycle. After you dye it, as a courteousy to the next person, run it through a cycle with detergent, empty. Or you can do a load of dark, old clothes, like blue jeans. To dry it, lay it on a flat surface, turning it occasionally, and avoid direct sunlight, ideally it will be in the shade on a warm, breezy day. If indoors, dry it on an old sheet on a carpet, with a fan pointed at it, again, turning it every hour or two. Good-luck---Brian
Q:how do you clean a cowskin rug?
depends, Dry Cleaners works or The cleaning instructions on my moms rug stated to rub it vigorously with baking soda and water paste and let dry then vacuum. My mom always took the rug to the cleaners.
Q:I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment building. While attempting to do laundry earlier today, I didn't notice that my washer never shut off.. So it kept filling until I noticed my dining room/kitchen room were flooded. I immediately shut the water off. The neighbors below came to my door stating that the water had leaked into their apartment. The question im having is quot;Is it necessary to have the carpet replaced?quot; I have a two year old, and after doing some research I learned that mold could build up, which is something I dont want. Also when the maintenance people came they tracked my carpet with mud and who knows what else when trying to fix my washer. My apartment wont just give me new carpet so Im trying to get some advice in whether or not I should fight for new carpet.
you are able to call in a corporation to dry it correct with vast followers yet once you enable it dry out by employing itself it may tend to strengthen mildew and mildew that's terrible on your respiration equipment because of the fact as quickly because it gets in that's impossible to do away with. i might pull up the carpet and dry the floor correct.
Q:I already have my carpet and padding. We purchased a whole house of like new, but used carpet at a great price for our LR and BR's and we have carpet padding. We planned to pay to have the carpet installed, but we are now completely out of money and paying someone is not an option. I know it will not be as nice or last as long, but I am wondering if we can glue the carpet down? It's just a regular mid-grade plush carpet. I am also wondering if this can be done with carpet padding or can it only be glued directly to the sub-floor? I am trying to figure out if I could staple down the carpet padding and somehow glue the carpet to the padding? Any help/suggestions on gluing down carpet with or without padding would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can use a steam cleaner. You can rent one or purchase one and use the soap that is suggested for the cleaner.
