Design Features of full welded forged steel ball valve
The body of ball valve is full welded, selects high quality forged material, and adopts the advanced forged forming technology to form two semi-spheres which are welded into a whole in the middle of the body. This welding technology differentiates the ball valve form others, and makes the valve more spherically,so the valve structure is more compacter, lighter and stronger.Besides, the middle direct welding realize highly accurate valve body manufacturing, makes fully and completely sealing between the seat and ball. The full welding instead of bolts completely avoids the outside leakage,so ball valve is the ideal product for under-ground,offshore working platform and under-sea equipments.
Adopting fixed plates or trunnion to support the ball
The top and bottom of the ball is supported by upper and lower fixed plates or stem and trunnion, and the ball is accurately placed in the center of the ball valve to achieve complete seals and precise movements. When plate adopted, the force exerted by the medium to the ball is distributed via the plate to the left and right bodies,so that the stem does not bear the blending moment from the medium, but only the torque from the ball rotation during the opening/closing of the valve. The low-friction PTFE Teflon composite bearings installed between the ball axis and fixed plate and between the stem and the trunnion can absorb ball moving action caused by the pressure of the medium. This structure brings stable actions and easy operations for the ball valves, and the required operation torque can be reduced,so smaller actuators can be used, and the cost is cut down.
ball valve seat is floating structure, means the seat can move along the medium direction,so that the seat can fit against the ball all the time.
(Ⅰ)Double piston effect structure seat of full welded forged steel ball valve
Seat design is special double pistons effect structure,it can ensure the seal wherever the medium flows into the ball valve.
(Ⅱ)Seat multistage seal strucute of full welded forged steel ball valve
As following graphic instruction,on seat bearing ring, set two soft sealing rings(A and B)and metal sealing spherical surface which can seal with the ball.Seat ring A is spring loaded, which seals the surface with the ball tightly to the surface to form an initial seat; When there is pressure generated from medium, the piston force is generated to make seal ring A elastically deformed and seal ring B fit the surface of the ball surface due to the piston effect caused by area difference, thus the second seal forms. When the medium pressure is rising. It will generate huge pressure to seal ring A and seal ring B,so the two seals have a greater elastic deformation, then metal seal ball surface compact with ball surface to form the third level of metal to metal seal.
(Ⅲ)Secondary seat seal device of full welded forged steel ball valve
As the above graphic instruction, the secondary seal device(seat grease injection valve)can be chosen according to the actual working condition, medium requirement, seal requirement, etc.Seat ring grease injection valve is a one-way valve, installed on the body, which can prevent the leakage and inject grease under the outside force. When secondary seal is required, there is a grease injecting channel and hole on the seat ring. The grease can form a seal between the seat and the ball, and then stop the leakage.

- Q: hello my names matt and i have a 1997 eclipse 2.0 non turbo with 94k miles and the semi circul seal on my valve cover gasket has a small leak that i see oil dripping and i dont think the pcv valve has ever bin replaced could any of those cause my exhaust to burn oil maby a bad fuel injector? theres no oil in the top of the engine on the spark plugs when i check them all, the piston rings and the headgasket r not worn or cracked so idk what it could be some one please help
- a leaking valve cover could only cause oil to burn when it drip,s onto the exhaust manifold that would be mainly under your hood...a plugged or bad P.C.V valve could cause crankcase pressure to build could cause minor oil consumption....if your sure your piston ring,s are in good condition then the valve seal,s would be the next suspect...change your positive crankcase ventilation valve first.....it would help to know more detail...like...does it burn more at start up or hard acceleration...that would indicate valve seal,s or guide,s....another thing would be just how much oil does it consume per mile....more detail will insure a more accurate answer...good luck!
- Q: i need to know the setting of the valve and a little advice on the up and down of the valves
- As Bob said, you had probably best bite the financial bullet and get someone experienced to do it. With the bucket over shim designs, the shim you need to change is underneath the bucket, the device that rides against the camshaft. To change the shims, you have to remove the camshafts and when you replace them, you must get them timed exactly right or else you can have pistons hitting valves..not good at all. They put the shim under the bucket to keep the cam from spitting the shims out through the valve cover at high rpms. The older 2 valve 900-1000-1100-1300 Kaws have shim over bucket and can be changed with a special $20 tool, a little screwdriver and small magnet . However, you might consider getting a shop manual and checking the valve clearance yourself. If all are within specs, then there is no need to take it to a shop. My old KZ1000 went something like 110,000 miles and only need two shims changed in all that time, so your bike could very well be ok.
- Q: i wanted to know what is the actual difference between check valve (non return valve) and globe valve?
- Check valves are designed to prevent back flow. A globe valve is used when the ability to throttle and control the flow is desired. The globe valve can be positioned at anywhere from 1% to 100% flow. This allows for very precise control over how much liquid will be allowed to flow through the valve. There is another type of valve called a gate valve. The gate valve can not be positioned with such precision as the globe valve and it is used when flow rate is not as important.
- Q: When using seafoam through the PCV valve. Which side contains the vacuum? From the crank case of intake manifold? The brake booster line is very difficult to access and on their site it says I can apply seafoam through the pcv valve.
- On most engines the PCV Valve is located on the valve cover. You would remove the PCV valve from the valve cover but leave it connected to the vacuum hose. Otherwise you would have a severe vacuum leak and the engine would race wildly. With the PCV valve still in place the engine would idle somewhat normally. Pour the Sea Foam directly into the PCV valve. The Sea Foam would be sucked into the PCV valve and into the intake manifold. Be careful not to over do it on the first application. If this has not been done for a few years enough gunk can be washed out of the intake manifold that it can foul the catalytic converter. I would apply the Sea Foam. Have a friend shut off the engine while the Sea Foam is added. Allow the Sea Foam to soak for several minutes and do its job. Reconnect the PCV valve. Start the engine and drive the vehicle for several miles. This will allow the catalytic converter to burn off the gunk that and Sea Foam that has passed through the engine. Repeat as necessary.
- Q: Also what prevents this from occuring? I have a lab due tomorrow for my biology class this is one of the questions. the answer is no where in my book, and we haven't discussed this in class. im also having a hard time finding the answer online. i would assume it would have something to do with the elasticity of the valves, and i know that when valves are weak sometimes blood can flow back into the artium when the ventricle contracts causing a heart murmur and other problems, but i haven't came across any information that talks about the valve being pushed backwards. if you can help me out that would be awesome! thanks =]
- the heart valves maintain the unidirectional flow of blood in the heart by opening and closing depending on the difference in pressure on each side. (wiki) So I would assume that the pressure of blood flow is what prevents the valve from pushing backwards. ALSO Atrioventricular valves These are small valves that prevent backflow from the ventricles into the atrium during systole. They are anchored to the wall of the ventricle by chordae tendineae, which prevent the valve from inverting. The chordae tendineae are attached to papillary muscles that cause tension to better hold the valve. Together, the papillary muscles and the chordae tendineae are known as the subvalvular apparatus. The function of the subvalvular apparatus is to keep the valves from prolapsing into the atria when they close. The subvalvular apparatus have no effect on the opening and closure of the valves, however. This is caused entirely by the pressure gradient across the valve.
- Q: what are the symptoms of bad egr valve??? My car is shaking on idle.. Tune up with all has already been done.
- Have the vehicle's computer tested for free at VIP Auto,AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts and see what trouble codes it shows while check engine light is on.
- Q: How are they different from other valves ?
- Test valves are typically needle valves but I have seen some occasional usage of 1/4 to 1/2 inch globe valves and ball valves used as test valves for sampling. Pressure gauge installations may have test valves installed just below them. The valves are used to isolate the gauge from the system pressure, a second valve is used to vent the trapped pressure so the gauge could return to zero. The same vent valve could then be used to attach a calibrated pressure source to the pressure gauge so as to check (qualify) the gauge reading against the standard. This was done on select gauges where a quick in place qualification could be done without the need to physically remove the gauge from the gauge board. I have also seen test valve setups in systems using a three way valve in a setup to scavenge the sensing line with a clean fluid. This is done when dealing with a slurry which could block the sensing line suach as in a quick lime system. Clean water would flush the line before and after a reading so as to not trap material in the sensing line which could build up and block or cause a false reading. Test valve location also gives a handy mean to obtain a sample of the process fluid.
- Q: here's some additional info asking of my question...I plan on buy a BLOWOFF VALVE and woundering where does the BLOWOFF VALVE goes in my car or do i have to replace with stock EGR VALVE using same hoses or help me please don't wanna screw this one up
- A blowoff valve is used in high-powered turbocharged engines. It allows for compressed intake air to be vented out to the atmosphere to reduce turbo lag that occurs due to excessive pressure buildup. It's not necessary for factory turbocharged engines, but if you have designed your own system you may want to add one. If you are unfamiliar with how turbocharging works - other than it makes your car go vrooom - then I highly suggest you take the car to a speed shop and have them analyse the car to determine whether you even need a BOV.
- Q: What do I do to make my valves stop ticking? And what makes them tick? its a 94 Acura Integra with a 91 LS motor, 105,000 miles. If I get a new engine head will it stop ticking or the ticking has to do with the block?
- Get your valves adjusted. The B18B engine has solid valves- like every non-VTEC Honda engine. The service interval is actually every 30,000 miles, but usually the technician just checks them at 30,000 miles. If they need adjusting, the tech will adjust them, but usually they don't. Yours are right on schedule. Go get the valves adjusted now. It's just normal wear and tear. When you hear the ticking, just get them adjusted. Those are extremely reliable engines and 105,000 miles is like you just broke it in.
- Q: what is meant by inherent characteristic for the steam control valve??
- There are different type of valves, (ball, gate, globe, needle, diaphram) each have their own characteristics in how they operate and the effect they have on flow. Inherent characteristic would be an effect that valve has on the fluid flowing through it.(steam can also be considered a fluid ) An example is a globe valve used to throttle a flow does so by adjusting the size of its opening. In essense its a variable orifice. Flow through an orifice results in a pressure drop across that orifice. So, an inherent characteristic of a globe valve is a pressure drop.
