- There may be no difference. It will depend on the application. For example, if I specified an ATS that had the proper voltage and current capacities, the only other item of concern would be to determine if the transfer would be a make before break or a break before make type of transfer. In a make before break, it would mean the sources would be placed into parallel operating condition before one of the sources was interrupted. This would require the ability to synchronize the sources. Which means the frequency, voltage and phase relationship of the sources must match before they are placed into parallel service. On a break before make switch, usually only phase rotation and approximate voltage levels are of concern. Hope this helps, Newton1Law

- drain the fuel tank and refill it with diesel.I would use died fuel because there isn't road tax on it .That is why it is red. you can use home heating fuel in it to it will work the same.I use both in my generator.gas will make the engine run to hot and it will lock up .and a locking fuel cap is a good idea

Unlike you car though the COGAS system does not directly power the ship but sends the electricity to electric turbines for propulsion and also provides the rest of the ship with electric power. The human body uses about 10 cups of water each day. No matter how it regains this water ( liquid or solid ) all these sources get it from nature. Though much has been done to keep contaminated water from reaching humans in more recent times some still make it through the filtering systems. - If you mean 40kva, then you are talking 30 horsepower. That's bigger than most of the huge waterwheels that used to power the industrial revolution era cotton mills. If you happen to live at the bottom of a huge waterfall you might have a chance, but the engineering would be something else,

If no load, it only uses that fuel required to keep it turning. (Not good for the engine). The rating of a generator is the max the engine can deliver at 100% performance. As the engine gets older, or even WORSE, not maintained. performance (output) drops.

- Q: I have been researching EV cars and conversions and am wondering about using a generator instead of batteries. I am not an enviro-nut concerned about making an emission free vehicle, just one that is cheap to drive. It seems to me that using a generator to power the motor, although it would use gas, would be way more efficient than a normal gas engine that is in a car, and would be lighter than batteries. Also, if it is a diesel generator I could run bio-diesel to cut back on emissions. Am I correct in this assumption?
- I was working for werner trucking and they were installing APU generators on thier trucks and it uses 1/3 less than the truck does at idle. 1/3 of a half a gallon of fuel an hour. It runs the ac and heat. I hope this helps
