Q: I have a universal 02 sensor 4 wire (black, black, white and blue) the stock is white black and grey how do I wire it? thanks :)
Keep in mind the sensor has a signal wire, a ground wire and a heater wire (or wires). Good luck!
Q: I wanted to ask, im busy installing a new stereo headset for my car, when i replaced the old stereo with the new one, i used the wire harness from the old stereo and joint the wires to the back of new the stereo (which there is another black adapter that goes in the wire harness area on the the new stereo) i did this by connecting the wires from the stereo adapter to the wire harness that connects to the car, although the adapter that connects to the stereo has more wires than the wire harness that connects to the car,( i only connected the wires that were matching such as grey wire to grey wire, grey wire with black strip to grey wire with black strip, and so on, i obviously didn't connect the colours that didn't match to the wire harness wires, although i looked up online and apparently the yellow wire is a power wire, but i don't know where to connect it......if anyone could help, this would be greatly appreciated , i also wanted to ask, would this solve the problem if i buy a new wire harness? Thanks
What kind of car is it? That's important, especially if it's a foreign make because those wires are so weird colored. Typically, yellow or ornage is power, red is memory, and the purple, gray, white, green wires are for the speakers .Black or brown wires are ground. Any blue wires you might come across are mainly just auxiliary signal wires that go to an aftermarket amp and subwoofer setup. Unless you have something like that, those wires can be taped off and forgotten about. Also, when wiring an aftermarket radio to your car, you will need to purchase an adapter harness that plugs into the stock wiring of the car and the wires connect to the radio wire harness correspondingly. I suggest soldering all the necessary wires and sealing them with shrink tube. It's the most solid, most sure way of a good connection without the worry of shorts and disconnections.
Q: how do i wire a dual 2 ohm sub to an amp at 2 ohm
actually tc your almost right. yes 1 and 4 are the ohm loads of the speaker itself. but if your talking mono thats all you can achieve. on 2 channel amps when you bridge them your talking ohm drop again. so if you have one dvc 2 ohm wired in series and then bridged to the amp your looking at a 2 ohm load
Q: chicken wire mesh
you live near a river it will make one fine fish trap round or oval 2 feet in dia.and 4 feet long .let me know and I will tell you how to naturaly bait the trap
Q: How do current carrying wires produce magnetism... Explain, give sites and clarify.
dear any wire that having a moving charges (electrons) are having a magnetic field around this wire in loop and u can know the direction of the loops by the right hand role that if we cauch the wire in our right hand as the thumb pointing to the direction of the current then the other fingers which arounding the wire is pointing to the direction of the magnetic lines
Q: I attempted to change a bathroom fan to a new one with the help of a friend. He disconnected all the wiring without paying attention to what he was doing and what was wired where. We have a set of wires coming from somewhere (I presume the fuse box) to the fan that is hot regardless of the switch being on or off. That has a black, white and naked wire in it. Then we have another wire that comes from the switch that has black, white and naked as well. The fan has black, white and green. Can someone please tell me how to connect these as we have tried everything and the only thing that works is wired to the constant hot which of course won't allow us to turn the fan off with the switch...
Follow Eaglewatcher's instructions and not only will it work, but you will be in compliance with the National Electric Code. When ever a switch is fed with a black and white cable the white Must Be used as the Hot. And it Must Be Permanently Identified as such. Most of us use a sharpie or black tape to do this. NEC Article 200.7(C)(2) Good luck.
Q: Hello! I'm going to re-wire my speakers and eventually get an amp to power them. For normal quot;door speakerswhat wire size would you recomend to run to them from an amp? Also, is 3ft far enough away to run my speaker wires from the amp power wire? Thanks in advance!
I would use 16 gauge. you can go a little bigger, or smaller. The biggest issue you will have ( vehicle depending ) is getting that wire thru your accordion boot and molex ( the rubber thingy that protects your wires, shaped like an S, and goes from the chassis to the door) <~ that's not talking down to you, but if other people read this, they will know exactly what it means also :D Unless your running a ton of power to your doors, you really don't need thick wires. As to the other part, It's not the speaker wire you need to keep away from your power wire, it's your RCA cables.. The rule is power wire goes down the battery side of the vehicle, and the rca's and remote turn on, go down the opposite side, if possible. That way you don't get alternator whine( when you accelerate, a high pitched whine will play thru your system, and make you Bat-S#it crazy :) Good Luck!
Q: Who makes the best spark plug wires? i think the ones on my car are crap...they are Mag*star O.E. replacements, and they suck. What do you recomend? Its an 89 thunderbird
If you want the best spark plug wires get a set of Belden wires. They are the best without modifications such as enhanced coil, etc. While Motorcraft wires are OE, the Beldens are by far better and will last longer. Good luck.
Q: Ok You know the speaker wires that go to the back of the subwoofer? The metal part that comes out of the wire came out of the wire, and it makes a funny sound or no sound at all. How can I fix this? Also, I cut the wire and put the copper wires into the subwoofer, it works so so, any sugestions? lew
If it's a RCA type jack, just buy a new cable. Your method would normally work, but you really need a good solid connection. You can get a RCA cable crimper, which would allow you to attach a new RCA jack to the cable...but the kit will cost you as much as a new cable. Personally, I'd just buy a new cable.
Q: I have a 1997 saturn sc2. In the trunk of my car there was a wire dangling down from the top when i bought it. Asked seller and he didnt know. It is not the trunk light wire or has to do with any of the tailights, blinkers, brake lights. It looks like a factory wire. It has a bunch of holes in the connector.
it might be a connector for a cd changer. if it has a factory radio with a cd button, but no in-dash cd slot, that could be what youre lookin at. sounds like a square plug? maybe 10 or 12 holes?
