Q: I built my own, verry successfull HHO gas generator and I want to inject the gas being produced, strait into my car engine but the flame keeps going back into my hose, i have going strait into the air intake carb, and blowing up my generator! I built a little flashback arrestor with gas piping filled with aquarium airstones and that obviously didn't work. Where can i buy a professional industrial flashback arrestor so I don't have to make my own?
If you use the term 'HHO', you sound like an idiot. There's no such chemical. There's H2, there's O2, and there's H2O. Electrolysis of H2O (aka water) produces H2 (hydrogen) and O2 (oxygen) gas. Burning H2 (reacting it with O2) produces H2O. Nowhere in this process is anything called 'HHO' produced. But the bigger isue is why you'd even want to put hydrogen gas into your car engine. It is designed to burn gasoline (or diesel), not hydrogen. Putting hydrogen into a gasoline engine is like a human eating a rock. Sure, it's possible, but it doesn't give you any benefits, and it could cause serious problems.
Q: If electric vehicles included a generator they could charge the battery while moving. It seems the best choice to me.
It seems you are asking about a generator that is separate from a diesel or petrol engine and are only referring to the part that turns the mechanical motion into electrical motion. AND You answered your own question. Such a generator attached to a vehicle would through its operation slow the vehicle. As it turns the vehicle inertial into electricity the vehicle will slow. We call this regenerative braking and in some electric vehicles this is done electronically by switching the electric motor into a dynamo (a generator.) But this does not suddenly make a perpetual motion machine. The car continues to lose energy to resistance that is not recovered.
Q: I was thinking of some sort of battery that I could charge at home and take outside but must be able to store a lot of electricity like be able to run 600w for 18 hours. I think a generator will be too expensive.
There are only two real choices, batteries, or a gasoline/diesel driven generator. To store that amount of power via batteries, you would need about 11 large auto batteries. A 100 amp-hour lead acid battery can store about 1 kW-hour, and you need 0.6kWx18hr 11 kW-hour. You need marine deep discharge batteries and they cost about $300 each, plus charger costs, so a generator would be cheaper. You can get a 800 watt generator for $300. OR if outside home is literal, you can run a long extension cord.
Q: I am purchasing a LARGE MOBILE TRAILER to be my mobile workshop. I wonder which would best regarding fumes and general maintenance. Onan approx. 7000w is my preffered choice at this point.
well gas is a much cleaner burn and gives off no fumes but it does give off alot of moisture and you will find it will quite literally rain in your trailer on cold days. also when gas evapourates from liquid to gas it absorbs the ambient heat and freezes so in really cold weather the gas bottle freezes and the heater doesn work. the only real benefit from deisel is its freezing temp and the fact that you will always have some if you run out in the van but unfortunately they do need regular servicing as they do block the filters and start to pulse and when they do that they give out blowms of smoke which isnt pleasant
Q: I am planning to buy a 20 KVA Diesel Generator. Both the vendors are confusing me over Air cooled and Liquid cooled engines. Can anyone help me to understand the pros and cons of the said engines for a commercial requirement.
Air cooled: bigger, noisier, hotter, dirtier, simpler to maintain, more expensive, no freezing risk, burn more engine oil. Liquid-cooled: all the opposite than above.
Q: if there is a website where you got it from, please put it in your answer.
It is an engine, not a motor. What size, and relative to what, for what use.
Q: I live in a location without municipal water supply. I could buy a natural gas generator, and hire an electrician to connect it to my breaker box, but I believe there is a way to connect solar panels to a battery system to provide enough power for my 220 volts submerged pump. I have 2 horses, 24 chickens, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 3 parakeets, and 3 people that need water in the event of a hurricane, national power grid attack, etc. There are solar powered generators advertised, but they are not powerful enough for 220. Also, my whole neighborhood of over 200 homes all lives off their own water wells, and we all suffered during hurricane Ike: 10 days without a water supply.
For that heavy a load, I'd think that a gasoline or diesel generator might be more appropriate. While you could possibly set up a bank of solar-charged batteries to power a 220-volt inverter, the power requirements could make that approach cost-prohibitive.
Q: I may soon have to relocate to a place where the electricity is infrequent but my livelihood depends on the internet. my plan is to access the internet through the telephone and run the computer on a diesel generator and also an inverter. is it possible, what precautions should i take to make this work. will this plan work.
We have a generator backup in place at work. It works fine. Besure you have a good surge strip. You will need a UPS too.
Q: I recently had solar Pannels installed. The panels generate enough electricity to power my house during the day. I use a 20kw silent diesel generator to power my house at night. I really hate my power provider PGE. If i tell them to shut off my power, Will they remove that tacky smart meter from my property?
You can have them remove it.
Q: I have been given a cheap diesel generator made from china. It starts alright, but seems to be reving very high and poping and spitting until it has ran for a while. It surges some times as well. I don't really like it much and haven't used it to power anything other then to load test it a bit. I have checked the motor and all it has is a simple governor on it with no adjustments? I am not sure even where to start adjusting anything on this. Any body have one of these and same problem? Please I was given it, I would like to get a little service out of it , not just junk it Fuel, oil, air filter are all new.so? help?
So what did you want to do with this engine? It sounds like a stationary engine used to power a generator or pump or similar application at a constant RPM.
